Blundstone Boots Review

Still searching out that perfect Father’s Day gift? Is your spouse an outdoorsy type? Does your Dad like to hike? Does he appreciate a well constructed pair of shoes?
There’s still time to buy him a pair of Blundstone boots.
Blundstone partnered with thriftymommastips.com and provided us with a pair of boots for review. Next week we plan to put these to the test hiking while on a blogging trip to Blue Mountain in Collingwood.

Blundstone is a name I had heard often but never really had a chance to inspect up close until this week. There are numerous styles of Blundstone boots available from men’s styles to kid’s sizes and even high boots for cowboys and cowgirls. There are several stylish Blundstone women’s boots available.

Blundstones are practical and high quality footwear. The style we chose is outdoorsy black leather which comes with a waterproof treatment to protect the material. Chisel Toe is a classy look for a businessmen on the go. For the sporting Dads out there who enjoy hiking, sports, camping and being outdoors, the Chunk Sole is ideal. It’s also the boot that is well suited for cabin, farm, or cottage. Worn with jeans, work pants or hiking shorts, Blundstones are versatile and durable.

Blundstones also come in a range of styles, including the CSA Greenpatch Boot – perfect for any dad in need of a little extra toe-protection. The durability of these boots make Blundstone a smart choice. Blundstones provide maximum protection that is heat, slip, acid, oil, and electric shock resistant regardless of setting. These steel toe boots are made with a difference and have been called the lightest steel toed boots on the market. That’s a pretty practical and useful gift for the Dads out there who do manual labour, or who are handymen in need of strong foot protection.

Now, we haven’t had ours long enough to vouch for the durability. But I can say they are available at many retailers and Blundstones are clearly well constructed. They look nice, rugged and high quality at the same time. They are made with weatherproof elastic and leather that keeps feet dry and allows them to breathe as well. Blundstones have injection moulded soles that are made without adhesives, so you never have to worry about them becoming unglued. The pull on tabs at back and front of the boots are useful and help to give the boot a close fit to your foot.

Blundstone Boots Review

Blundstones have been available in Canada since 1993 and are now sold at over 600 locations. Tin Shack is the exclusive Canadian distributor of Blundstone, located in Collingwood, Ontario. Founded in Vancouver in 1998, Tin Shack distributes footwear made by Blundstone, Pty, of Tasmania, Australia. The company was founded in 1870, and Blundstone is Australia’s leading manufacturer of quality footwear and remains a family-owned company to this day. These Blundstone boots are well constructed and weatherproof, durable and nice looking. They are not clunky like some other ankle high hiking boots or fashionable boots we have tried or worn over the years. They feel lightweight and comfortable by comparison to many others on the market. At about $189 Canadian they are pricey. Sometimes it’s worth it to splurge on a product, or brand that endures. If you buy one pair of these and they last seven or eight years and fit your foot well without hurting then they are worth it.

Edited October 2017 to add update and affiliate Blundstone boots links so you can easily buy some if you wish. My high school age daughter claimed these for her own last year. She has worn them easily 7 months of the year daily from Monday to Friday and she loves them. In fact she adores them even more than I do so I can’t complain that she decided to make them her own. They are comfortable and they withstand her daily walks through swampy terrain and all weather conditions.

These get $$$$ out of $$$$$. They lose one $ for the price.
As noted in this post I was provided with a pair of boots for this review. My opinion is my own and it is  always honest.

Mine are going on 8 years! They have been the most comfortable boots/shoes I have ever worn, even walking almost 8km to and from work each way. So worth the $189!

Definitely sounds like I need to check these out for both the hubby’s work and for when he’s riding his motorcycle. The steel toe safety boots are a must and even if it’s a bit pricey, you get what you pay for. If they can last a few years it’s worth it. Right now we’re buying him work boots once a year. This would definitely save on money!

They look so nice. I think I should get a pair for review too 🙂 Do they have size 13W? I’ll have to check out the website. Thanks so much for the review. I was not aware of this brand of boots (though I see many men wearing them… that frequent Starbucks…Justsayin’)

10 years ago, I spent a year in Australia and these were all the rage way back then. I fell in love with them then. They have to be the best quality made footwear I have even seen!
