Midnight Castle Sweepstakes – Win an iPad Mini

My 12-year-old has been using her iPad mini obsessively since she got it last summer. This past week oldest daughter and I both discovered Midnight Castle and we have been playing together ever since. (For a limited time you can head over to the Midnight Castle Facebook page for a chance to win an iPad mini.) Up until now, when daughter wasn’t using iPad for homework or building a Prezi presentation for some assignment, she was glued to games that drive me mad. Most of her current games in rotation on the iPad are wholesome enough but vapid, and almost entirely related to grooming, doing makeup, or creating Chibi. I tolerate those kid games, but have no real interest in them.Last week we downloaded Midnight Castle and I worried for about a minute whether it would be too graphic or explicit or violent. Midnight Castle isn’t any of those things. It’s a quest type of game with searches and mini tasks that reward you with jewels, runes, keys, and bizarre objects to unlock different areas of the castle grounds and complete missions issued to you by each of the characters.
The premise is this: your eccentric Uncle dies and you are named in his will. You inherit his castle, a mysterious place called Midnight Castle. Inside the castle is rumoured to be a chamber called Mystery Chamber. You are certain the chamber has something to do with his death so you travel to his castle and attempt to find the chamber. Can you unlock the secrets? There are 12 characters. Anabel, Lord Chamberlain, the Innkeeper and the Iron Knight are a few of the characters at the outset of Midnight Castle. As the game progresses you unlock different tombs and broken down machines and buildings exploring a fantasy realm. Sometimes something as simple as a key unlocks an area and other times you must craft a special rune, or artifact to open up a new level of play. There are 40 plus hours of enchanting play here and 350 quests. You can play with friends. You can roll the dice and spin the wheel in mini games within the game itself. And you can adopt a few different pets to help you find the treasures in the castle. There are in app purchases, just as there are for many games. I don’t attach my credit card information and I play this one with my daughter so there aren’t any misunderstandings. We have enjoyed Midnight Castle on its own merits. Midnight Castle will send you notifications when a locked area has reopened and you don’t necessarily need to use up token or coins if you are a patient player.Right now to celebrate the launch of Midnight Castle on iPad, there is also a Midnight Castle Sweepstakes on Facebook. Like the page, leave this comment: I love Midnight Castle and you have a crack at winning an iPad mini. The contest runs through midnight on March 26th. A winner will be chosen at random and contacted by Big Fish Games by April 9th.
