Muse Headband – Gamifying Meditation and Relaxation #Giveaways ARV $299

muse headband

The Muse headband makes relaxation more fun, especially for gadget girls like me. Let me clarify. When I try to relax, it’s interrupted by all kinds of outside stimuli – the kids, noises, neighbourhood creatures and then there’s the constant internal monologue too. The Muse headband helps me to conquer all of those things.

The Muse Headband Helps Make Serenity a Reality

Well it makes serenity reality at least while you’re meditating. With the Muse headband, you have an ally in leaving behind the stress and worry of the world – at least for a while. The Muse headband uses EEG (electroencephalogram) technology to monitor brainwaves as you meditate – or attempt to meditate, as the case may be.

How the Muse Headband Works

This brain wave monitoring allows the Muse headband to detect how your meditation is progressing. By monitoring your brainwaves, this device knows when your headed to mental peace, or if you’ve been derailed onto thinking about dinner and what the kids are up to.

[tweetthis]Muse is a brain wave monitoring headband that will help you meditate.[/tweetthis]

Connect the Muse headband to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth connectivity, and its companion app helps guide you through your meditation. The headband gives you specific challenges to help make each and every meditation session relaxing. Each challenge is scientifically shown to work in a way that maximizes your meditation benefit.

Just a quick side note. The first time connecting took me about 15 minutes to get the Muse headband all synched. Not sure if that was just my device or if it was standard. The instructions guide you through the process simply and then you wait for the pairing to occur. Once it is paired with your iPhone or Android device then you shouldn’t need to pair it again.

As you progress through your meditation challenge, the Muse headband uses its EEG technology to track your brainwaves, giving you real time feedback on your meditation and helping to keep you on the path to mental calmness and clarity. It even allows you to choose sounds and environments that are right for you, helping you start out with the maximum potential for relaxation. You can meditate at your own pace, and it fits into any schedule with sessions as short as three minutes!

I find the experience of the Muse headband really fun actually. I enjoy seeing visually when and where my brain veered off the meditation. It seems that I have some trouble around 2/3rds of the way through each session. My mind begins to wander. So based on that feedback I know I need to work harder to banish all the internal thoughts that interrupt my meditation and relaxation time.

My Experience with the Muse Headband

I gave the Muse headband a try, and I must say, it helped relax me substantially. After I successfully connected, the Muse was everything it claims to be. I picked the sound of the ocean and began my meditation challenge.

The Muse headband helped me get back on track several times, letting me know when my mind was starting to wander into distinctly un-meditative territory and getting me back on the road to mental Nirvana. After using the Muse, I felt much more relaxed and focused, and I will most definitely continue to use it. I enjoy the push notifications on my smartphone too. I know that sounds weird but I like the visual reminder than I should pause and do this again because it has been three days, or two days, or even a week. That works for me.

[tweetthis]I want to win the Muse brain sensing headband because I like to meditate. #giveaways[/tweetthis]

The Muse headband helped me dramatically increase the restorative effects of my down time. I love it and I think you will, too. For more information on the Muse headband, visit their website, and read about how it could help you find the relaxation you’ve been looking for. PLUS it’s crazy cool technology. I kind of love that. I need incentives to remember to meditate, Muse seems to give me that. The Muse headband is totally safe but it is recommended to be used by people 16 years of age and older.

The Muse is NOW available at Best Buy stores throughout Canada and The US. Follow the instructions in the widget below and you can win one worth $299. Open to Canada and the US. Good Luck!

I received a Muse headband to facilitate this post and Muse generously offered one to my readers as well. So don’t forget to enter. My opinion is all my own.

I learned that there was a study that said 20 minutes of meditation for 3 days in a row reduced anxiety, improved mood, & reduced heart rate – all which are a plus for your health. I want to win this because I would really love it for de-stressing at night – I need to relax, clear my thoughts etc because I find it hard to wind down and sleep. I checked out their website and learned that I can choose the sounds and environment that are right for me, which is awesome. I will never forget a relaxation exercise I did once where the voice was talking about walking in bare feet in the grass, detailing the feel of the grass between toes and so on – I loathe walking barefoot in the grass, and thus of course this exercise in relaxation was a total bust for me because instead I got agitated. Being able to choose a walk through the sand on the beach would have been better for me, but sadly it was not customizable!! So any chance to choose my path to relaxation is appreciated! 🙂
