Public Funding for In Vitro Fertilization Is the Only Choice #OHIP4IVF #Onpoli
Former first lady of Canada, Maureen McTeer recently stood in a private Women of Influence Award gathering and reminded the audience that in vitro fertilization (IVF), and assisted reproductive technologies are a modern day reality and should be funded in Ontario as a health care treatment. IVF is a medical treatment that is sometimes prescribed as the only way a couple can conceive a child. An estimated one in six Canadian couples struggle with infertility. Infertility is, often a byproduct of other health conditions. Sometimes it’s cancer that leaves a couple infertile, sometimes polycystic ovarian syndrome, or a disease like Crohn’s. And yet, only one province, Quebec funds IVF. IVF is a…

Well, here, at the Schuck casa, we are huge fans of protein, fruit and vegetables in lunches and snacks. We try to eat healthy and give our kids good options for meals. Only a Kid Could Get Away with This –#WorldessWednesday
Honestly I don’t get kids. Freezing cold out and she wants ice cream. I have no interest in ice cream again until June. Oh, to be a kid. By the way, the flavour was dubbed Superkid at Laura Secord. How could I resist that? This is a Wordless Wednesday post.

Kinder is a Joy to Share #Kindermom Special Offer
My kids are already falling asleep dreaming of sugarplums. It doesn’t take much, just the hint that December is around the corner. They are happily crafting their Santa lists, jumping around the house excitedly peeking through the window each morning to check for snow and joyously asking how many more days while ticking each number off on the kitchen calendar. Christmas is a great time for kids at our house, and it should be for children everywhere, but that’s not always the case. Teaching children to share is a lifelong journey. When my guys were wee ones, well we would of course seek out opportunities to encourage turn-taking and remind…

Kellogg’s New Breakfast Special K Morning Shakes
One of my favorite things about living in London is the great aroma coming off of the Kellogg’s plant some days. Last week I was reminded of that as I left a building on Dundas Street and was overwhelmed by incredible sweet and slightly smoky aroma hanging in the air. It took me a few minutes to realize it was cereal. One of my favorite things about being a member of the Kellogger’s Network for bloggers is the fact that I get first crack at some of the great new products shortly after they are developed. Last week we found these, Special K Morning Shakes. There are four per package…

Accu-Life True Easy Syringe _ #PTPAinsider
Accu-Life True Easy syringe makes dispensing medicines simple and precise for parents everywhere. Happily, I also want to note this one just earned the Parent Tested Parent Approved award for the Holidays 2012 season. Accu-Life is a useful tool so I can see why it gets the seal of approval. This syringe takes a tiny bit of getting used to at first, so it’s crucial that you remove from package and spend some time getting used to the mechanics of figuring out the right dose. Figure out what the correct dose of medicine (by checking with the prescription details or the boxed over the counter medical information on package) is…
