We learned fast to never go anywhere without food and we got creative too.
Cheerios are fun to eat and fun to craft with.
Take some dental floss and let your tot string Cheerios on there. It’s a
fun way to take food with you and to help fine motor skills grow.

There are lots of healthy, baby-friendly foods out there, but some stand out from the pack. These ten culinary superheroes are loaded with essential nutrients, reasonably priced, easy to prepare, and delicious. What’s more, now’s the perfect time to introduce them. While the very word “nutritious” can start a food strike among older kids, babies’ opinions, and palates, are still relatively open. Many parents are surprised to discover that their babies really enjoy these foods, either from the very first bite or after a few exposures.
Here are ten fantastic foods to introduce to your baby. After introducing any new food, wait three days before moving on to the next new food to identify any possible allergic reaction. If your baby’s still a beginner at eating solids, grind or puree the food as needed. (Find out more about preparing homemade baby food.)

My oldest daughter Payton, now 9, was about six months old before I felt brave enough to introduce some small amounts of rice cereal. As a new Mom, who waited forever, or what seemed like forever, to adopt our little gal, I didn’t want to take any chances with food allergies or choking. I still remember the first time we gave our first baby Cheerios. Payton was seven or eight months old and we were at Gymboree. Another Mom handed me some Cheerios from one of the cute little Cheerio’s on the go Tot containers and well, let’s just say it wasn’t love at first taste. But like most of the foods we introduced to Payton, it took a couple of tries and then she quickly developed a taste for them. Cheerios have been a staple in our lives for the greater part of a decade now. We are seldom with out a box of Cheerios plain or Honey Nut Cheerios, because both of my children love them and we do too. Cheerios is one cereal I don’t mind stocking the cupboards with because I know they are good for the whole family, healthy and nutritious.
