Cooking With Kids – St Patrick’s Day edition plus linky

Happy St. Patrick’s Day edition of Cooking With Kids. Today we are baking cupcakes, with a twist. We’ll call these Pot of Gold cupcakes. Oh and I have a giveaway open to Canadians today. So read to the end and let’s get cooking or baking. Yummy!

Well, look at that. Oddly my cupcakes were so pretty the youngest didn’t want to eat them. This time all we did was make a batch of cupcakes from a Betty Crocker box. I let Ainsley be in charge on this one, so we tossed baking gumdrops into the batter and heart sprinkles and baked up 2 dozen cupcakes with hidden treasure inside. Then we made a batch of green icing.

Icing is simple:

Icing sugar, margarine or butter and a spoonful of water or so.

Then we added the rainbows. Braided twizzlers.

We tossed a few stars and sprinkles on top and then we also added M&Ms.

Wait a minute – did you see that? That’s right. This is the throw down. This week I will choose one lucky Canadian follower that links up a post and a recipe (it doesn’t need to be hard) for cooking with children and I will send them coupons for three free Canadian bread products from Maple Leaf / Dempster’s. I will draw on March 22nd with random.org.
Do not forget to leave me an email in the comments below. No other criteria. Just Canadian entries only please. I only want your address or email or twitter handle so I can contact you when you win. Mmm…kay?
Happy St. Patrick’s Day and hope you find a pot of gold!
