This is a new development, as crowd funding seems like a little weird. Parents should think about what the child will go through when he gets to know about all this. I’m happy for this couple. This was a truly innovative way to start their family. It’s unfortunate that they have to resort to this but our government has left us no choice. Infertility is indeed a medical condition that should get funding like any other condition. I live in Ontario and since this issue is close to my heart I have started a petition on change.org to keep the conversation going. We need change now. I agree. Infertility is stressful to so many couples and singles. Adding financial stress to the equation is sad and compounds their difficulties.

It’s great that people have these options to help them make their dreams come true. It’s too bad, though, that it has to come to that, and that OHIP doesn’t help pay for the process.

We considered IVF after not getting pregnant after trying for 3 years. The cost was so much, that we decided to be happy with the healthy child we were blessed with, although one more would have been perfect.

That’s awesome that Nick and Deb were able to pay for it. Thinking good things, as they await the arrival of their child.
