How To Eliminate Fast Food From Your Diet

Many are bringing in the New Year with resolutions to eliminate fast food from their diets, and while it might seem hard, it’s definitely possible. With a few tips and a little bit of willpower, you can eliminate fast food and start the journey to a healthier life! Just follow these tips to help you eliminate fast food and you’ll find yourself having an easier time!
Meal planning is key!
In order to avoid the convenience of fast food and keep yourself from falling back on it, it’s important to meal plan. Planning your meals out takes the question out of what you’ll be eating each day and not only will it help you eliminate fast food, you’ll likely save quite a bit of money as a bonus!
Take a lunch to school/work.
Packing a lunch can be a pretty big game changer when you start to eliminate fast food. As long as you’re packing enough food to keep you satisfied, you won’t be tempted to run to the closest fast food joint! It’s also helpful to bring snacks throughout the day just in case you get hungry, so pack those in your lunch too!
Set up a reward system.
Set up a reward system for yourself and stick to it! If you avoid fast food for a week, buy yourself something nice like some new gym clothes or put the money in a savings jar towards a bigger reward. This gives you incentive to eliminate fast food from your diet and it also lets you physically see how much money you’re saving and able to put elsewhere. It can help you prioritize and even start a savings!
Make your own coffee and breakfast at home.
If a large part of your fast food spending and intake is at a coffee shop for breakfast, consider making your own coffee at home and opting for a healthier breakfast. You could hard boil a dozen eggs on the weekend and eat those throughout the week or even just simply scramble some eggs in the morning for breakfast! The easiest way to change up your breakfast routine and spice it up so you don’t get bored is to incorporate different vegetables in your eggs to change the flavor every day! Making your coffee at home keeps you from stopping at a coffee shop with pastries and other unhealthy breakfast foods so this is another great way to eliminate fast food from your diet!
