Great Family Entertainment at Monster Jam #MonsterJam

Every year for the last 7 or so my husband and youngest daughter have attended Monster Jam together. It’s kind of their thing. I am usually busy working or running our other daughter to her rehearsals. But, this weekend the timing worked out between rehearsals and we all were able to see Monster Jam at Budweiser Gardens in London.

The show is well worth the money and it’s very entertaining to say the least. Zombie got the action started with the first category of judging. Zombie is a monster truck with brains on the roof and Zombie arms. He performs to the soundtrack of Michael Jackson’s Thriller which had my kids dancing in their seats.

Crowd Favourite Northern Nightmare got off to a slow start, but then found his groove. A short intermission was followed by a comical and extremely entertaining “special guest.” Two transforming vehicles did a short skit and their quick battle was explosive and loud.

In between some of the categories, dirt bikes raced each other to see who would win a plaque as well.

Monster Jam is on in London all weekend Feb. 27 and 28th and then it continues its touring. There are numerous categories that each Monster truck is judged on – from best donuts to freestyle and a timed round at the start as well. Of course the final categories are the most entertaining, with two cars being brought out and the trucks taking turns jumping over them and crushing them. Northern Nightmare and Bounty Hunter performed really well in the last few categories the day we saw the show. Both got some great vertical air in the centre of the ring.

We enjoyed our afternoon a good deal. Monster Jam is enjoyable, fun and affordable family entertainment. If you have a child who loves cars or trucks, this is the show for you. Take some extra money with you for the popcorn, or the Monster Jam branded souvenirs.
