One of the primary reasons may be that you cannot join a gym because you cannot afford to pay the membership fee. However, you should know that getting physically fit isn’t always a costly affair. Here are few ways which you can follow to remain physically fit without spending much. So, it can be said that you can follow these ways to remain physically and financially fit, at the same time.

Set goals that you can achieve

Just as you set financial goals, you also need to set goals regarding your health. For example, set a goal to shed 5 pounds (if it’s required) in a certain time period. If you set comparatively larger goals, then you may become frustrated if you’re not able to attain it. Instead, set short goals and get motivated to set large goals once you achieve the smaller ones. Regardless of whatever activities you choose to stay fit, you should also keep a positive frame of mind. It’ll help you achieve your goals relatively fast.

Exercise at your home regularly

It is not compulsory to join a gym in order to exercise. You can very well exercise at your home and save the money that you otherwise need to pay as membership fee at a gym. Start your exercising regime by walking for about 30 minutes in a day. If it’s not possible everyday, then walk at least five times a week. You can also buy or borrow work-out DVDs from library to exercise at your home. You can also look for activities which you can do with your children. It’ll also help you remain stress free as you can enjoy utmost.

Even if you want to join a gym, shop around to find one where you pay less. You can also take advantage of free trial periods that the gyms offer from time to time. By doing so, you can get acquainted with the culture of the gym and join if you like it and you can afford the membership.

Eat a balanced diet everyday


Eating a balanced diet is one of the prerequisites of remaining physically fit. You should choose right amount of servings from each food group in the food pyramid. For example, your everyday diet should comprise of vegetables, fruits, milk products, fats, oils, cereals, etc. It won’t cost you much but it’ll help you stay fit by giving your body the right amount of nutrition. You should also drink adequate water everyday. Water is a simple no cost way to keep yourself healthy.

It is quite important to get financially fit in order to become physically fit. This is because you’re in stress when you are in debt. You need to pay off your debts in order to remain stress free. To get rid of your debts, plan a suitable budget and follow it strictly. If required, get professional help if you cannot pay back your outstanding balances on your own. Whatever option you choose, your main objective should be to become debt free fast and improve your financial life, which in turn, will improve your health, too.

    I think a lot of people struggle with getting fit on a budget. I know we did for a while, then I did the math and figured it was less expensive to get a Y membership for the family then pay for assorted organized activities with several different groups.
