My Favourite Month – July Colouring Page Printable

My favourite month of the year is here. July makes me happy, just like this cute July Colouring Page printable. I love the warmer temperatures and frankly it’s the month of my birthday and my oldest girl’s birthday. In fact, I think that alone makes it worth celebrating. Add all the other stuff in there like the beach, or the cottage, and the lazy summer days by the pool. Put that all together and clearly that’s a recipe for the best month of the year. So happy July to you and welcome to the summer months as well. Thought it was time to post this fun July Colouring Page just in time for July 1st! Oh don’t get me wrong August has many merits too, but July is the start of summer so I always feel much less stressed about the clock ticking down to end of summer. In fact, around here the warmer temperatures always last well into September but July and August are the months that our kids have off school in Ontario. So we make the most of them. Have you got a lot planned for the summer months? Do you have all their camps booked yet? If not, there’s still a bit of time to get the kids signed up for stimulating summer Stem Camp. One of my girls will definitely take two weeks in Muskoka at Pioneer Camp Ontario. We shared a post about that earlier in June. And the other one is working all summer. So it will be a busy one too. Cheery June Coloring Page Printable

So far this year I have been sharing a coloring page printable each month. BUT, I almost forgot June entirely. That’s right so here I am making up for it late with my June Coloring Page printable just for you. OH my goodness how did this month get away from me? Well, that’s a rhetorical one I guess. I know fully how this crazy month of June sped fast. It’s a wicked month when your kids are in school, isn’t it? Those last few weeks are a mad rush of assignments, tests, exams and field trips. Not to mention all of the extracurriculars that are wrapping up too. Say Hello to June So hello and good bye June. It’s summer time and I am ready, I think. I mean there’s always that question of do I have enough planned for the kids? Hoping that I am good that way. These girls are young adults now after all and they need a lot less scheduled time. One will be off to her job five days a week at camp locally. The other will be busily doing camps and swimming here too. So here’s to June. Are you ready? Valentine’s Day Coloring Page Printable

Valentine’s Day is coming up fast and I know how much you enjoy crafts. So here’s another Valentine’s Day colouring page for kids. It’s super simple but don’t forget colouring doesn’t have to be too detailed. It can just be a fun and easy transition or relaxation activity. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and it’s time to celebrate love. Well, every day should be an occasion to celebrate love really, right? Nonetheless, it’s nice to have a specific date on the calendar for those of us who get so busy we forget to take a moment to remember our partners. I know I can be vguilty of this. I always remember my kids, but my husband sometimes after 20 years of marriage is taken for granted. This year I have a few special things planned. I vow to take a night off work and go our for a romantic dinner and maybe a movie too. This year my kids are old enough to understand that we need time together too. In fact it won’t be long and my tween and teen will have their own special someone too. (Yikes!) It’s part of my goal here always at Thrifty Momma’s Tips to help people find the brands and items that make sense for their families. Sometimes I share a post can help you save money, or a giveaway here as well. I also like to share printables too so that you can use them easily at home to keep your children busy and sometimes to help you save time and other resources. Pizza Lessons and a Pizza Coloring Page Printable

Do your kids think pizza is a food group? Mine seem to believe that. My youngest could exist on pizza and peanut butter, but not together. I don’t mind pizza, for several reasons. It’s a food everyone loves. It is relatively healthy and you can change it up to be just about anything you want. Cauliflower crust? Sure, why not? Chicken and pesto? Yes, please. Plain old pepperoni? Okay. Four Simple Lessons Prompted by Pizza Dinner: My favourite thing about pizza is that you can easily make it together with your kids and it’s enjoyable to eat. My daughter’s favourite thing about pizza is the taste, and the fact that it is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles favourite food. Pizza also very naturally lends itself to some basic learning concepts. You might as well use the tools at your disposal to capitalize on those small learning moments. I thought I would share a few of the things parents can discuss when making pizza with kids. 1. Math: Pizza naturally lends itself to math concepts because of the shape and the slices. You can easily start a conversation about fractions when you are slicing the pizza. Might as well look for math concepts in food because it makes the math more fun. 2. Nutrition: Have your child identify all of the food groups represented on his or her pizza. Dairy? Yes of course. Vegetables? Maybe. Meat, often, yes. 3. Reading: With all recipes, I like to enlist the kids in figuring out how to read the recipe and follow the directions. That’s a decent literacy activity. 4. Time Management and simple time concepts: If it takes 15 to 20 minutes to cook a pizza then what time will it be when the pizza is done? What does twenty minutes look like? Can we leave the house to do an errand? Is that too long? Maybe that looks like one small episode of Arthur. Or, could it be just enough time to set the table and wash hands and read a page or two of a book? Brain Food Pizza dinners are a lot of fun and there’s some brain food there too. Can it really be almost 2015? I have no idea where the year went. Any ideas? Anyways, I wanted to be the first to wish you all Happy New Years.
