Adorable Kid’s Pet Guinea Pig Colouring Page

I receive a small commission from purchases made via qualifying links. We are a family with guinea pigs. We have had guinea pigs as pets for over a decade. They make adorable family pets and they are not that much effort. Low maintenance really. In fact, they are kind of cuddly and they can be very sweet. A few of our friends also have guinea pigs as pets so that’s why I thought this cute guinea pigs colouring page printable would be perfect to share. Why Guinea Pigs Make Good Pets There are many reasons guinea pigs make good pets. They live 3-6 years and typically don’t cost a lot of money. Kids really just need to feed and water them and change the cage about twice a week. They need their claws clipped occasionally and safely with nail trimmers. Not a hard task at all. Guinea pigs are not loud – for the most part. Our Guinea Pigs Over the years we have had about 10 guinea pigs, mostly because at one point I bought each of the girls a guinea pig and the pet store assured me that they were both girls, or both boys, either way I forget now. Anyways, each of the girls had a cage for their own guinea pigs, but they were let out of the cages and they played on blankets in the basement and occasionally in our yard with supervision. Well, guess what? One was a boy. So, when we returned from a weekend at my brother’s house in Toronto, we suddenly had one huge guinea pig. Not even two days later we had five guinea pigs! Baby guinea pigs are actually the cutest things. But, we knew then that five guinea pigs would equal 10 or 12 guinea pigs and so on and so forth. Point being – they breed fast and often. BE SURE you have either only one guinea pig or same sex guinea pigs. So, we split them up and sold three baby guinea pigs to different people who wanted guinea pigs for their kids. While my daughters were sad, they each made $10 out of that and that soothed the upset for a bit. Products We Love For Guinea Pigs Bedding for the Cages Bedding There are several different types of bedding that you can buy but the one that is wood shavings is super messy so we don’t recommend that one. Kaytee and CareFresh are the best in our opinion. Food Go with something that is not too expensive because they eat a lot and poop a lot too. This guinea pig food is higher end and higher quality. Also honestly, you might as well order it all on Amazon. It’s just easier. You will also need a Food Dispenser for the hay. This combo starter pack is a good place to start. Of course you need water bottles and cages too. Water Bottle Listen, we went through 5 of these before we found the right one that DOES NOT LEAK all over the cage making it a wet mess of stink. There’s something special about first pets and well, frankly every pet has a special place in their owner’s hearts. Pets We Have Known and Loved My first pet ever would have been a tiny Pomeranian dog when I was a baby. But, to be honest I have zero memory of that pup. My only memories of her are from photos my Mom had. The first pet that I actually remember was a tiny turtle that my brother and I both had. Loved that pet. I recall that we called him Fred Flintstone and he was a small guy who lived in our aquarium in our home in Guelph. Alas, I think he only lasted about three years. After that, we had no pets for a time until we got our cats. Over the years, we had so many wonderful cats: Spooky, Mandy, Mindy and Magnum. Be Brave Hopeful Sayings Colouring Page

At the start of the pandemic I looked for ways to stay positive. I think many of us did actually. There weren’t many optimistic and hopeful things to see then as events were cancelled and schools closed and sports stopped, gyms closed and well you get the idea. And, there was so much worry, in every single corner of my house. WE lost multiple trips we had planned and we were worried often. Everything was so much harder, especially when schools closed and remote learning was the new normal. My kids did not do well with that at all. MOM Life So, like a lot of Moms, I looked for hope and inspiration and anything that might actually help us get through. So we painted rocks with inspirational sayings on them and placed them in various areas of the neighbourhood. And we took hikes and we drew and did so many crafty things. Check out my Eco Printing Craft Idea here. Then we made some lovely colourful art and posted it in the windows of our home. Be Brave That made me happy. It also helped us to resolve to do our own part to add to the cheery atmosphere of our own little corner of the world. That was as much about giving us something happy to look at as it was about watching the cheerful smiles of grandparents out walking their grandchildren and little ones stopping to stare at the window art. So, I will keep on chugging along. And I will also build in more walks again and some hikes (I hope there are some spaces that are not closed to that option.) If ever there was a year when we all needed a relaxing hobby, this was the one. I have spent many mornings in the past six months working out and we all have been crafting, doing puzzles and colouring occasionally too. Colouring as Both a Craft and Relaxation Technique As everyone knows, we have all been through the ringer this year with the pandemic, but even so, we have found many ways to adjust and be resourceful. Happy New Year 2020 to all of you! How did you spend your New Year’s Eve? Last night, we went skiing as a family, well mostly…my one girl went to a friend’s sleepover party and chose to stay there. It’s a New Decade – Welcome to 2020! So the rest of us, the remaining three members of my family, went skiing at Boler Mountain in town here and had a great time together. At 9:30 pm roughly every New Year’s Eve they have a family New Year’s Eve event and we have enjoyed it a few times. Last year, we ushered in the New Year with my good friend Margarita Ibbott. It’s closing in on spring, which means the end of ski season. BOO. But the changing season also brings some fun spring road trips. A bit of planning goes a very long way towards making a road trip fun and memorable. Happy New Year Printable Colouring Pages

Here’s to a Happy New Year for everyone. Hoping this Happy New Year Printable Colouring Page and New Year doodle bring some cheer to your life. This past year has been a tough one for a lot of people. I’ve seen too many struggling with divorce and illness this year to feel like I have any right at all to complain about anything. Here’s to New Beginnings A new calendar year is a chance to throw open the blinds and let all the positivity and light and happiness into your home and your heart. That’s my philosophy, right now. Heaven knows life is challenging here many days too. This past year has had many ups and downs. But the beauty of a new year is that it brings a clean slate so to speak. Ask me again in March and we will see if I still feel positive about what’s on the horizon. I am evolving again this year as the industry continues to change. Content and social media are always evolving and I love that, but 2018 was an uphill battle many days. One major non profit client defaulted on a contract and didn’t pay and we had to part ways early in the year. That cost me thousands of dollars. Could I have taken them to small claims court? Maybe. Not really an option or a great use of my time, when in fact they are a non profit. Balance I have worked extremely hard to balance many things this past year and there have been many hurdles to overcome. But there have also been some great highlights. My travel adventures continue to be amazing. I’m working with a new technology, and also a brand new destination venue and both of those new projects are exciting and energizing. My health is good and I work hard at that so I cannot complain ever. There are far too many in my age group right now struggling with cancer and other devastating illnesses. So I will continue to count my blessings right now and in 2019. I know you will as well. This past year I have had bylines in magazines, both on line and in print, in places I had not been published before, so that’s been exciting. I intend to keep pursuing new bylines in established publications in 2019. So, I will continue to work and move more always and travel and love the people who occupy the biggest part of my heart. Travel, health, love and family are all I need in life to be content and I look forward to a magnificent year ahead.
