On the final stop of our girl’s getaway trip to Florida we headed to St. Augustine. None of the four of us had ever set foot in St. Augustine so we were excited to see the city. We were also tired. There was a lot of driving involved in visiting three cities in six days and we were crossing our fingers that St. Augustine would be comfortable and accommodations would be quiet, restful and clean. The St Augustine Tryp Hotel didn’t disappoint. It was a lovely, clean, newer space. Tryp is a brand owned by Wyndham and it is affordable and family friendly. There are numerous locations of Tryp by Wyndham around the world in many popular tourist destinations. A new one is currently being built in Fort Lauderdale too. In the St Augustine Tryp Hotel the rooms are extremely spacious. Lobby is clean and decorated with modern colours and styles. It was located on Ponce DeLeon Boulevard Sebastian St Augustine. Looking out onto a marina, the Tryp Hotel St. Augustine has a nice view out back and ample parking as well. Rooms facing out front lack a view of anything exciting other than the roadway, but if you can overlook that then it’s not that big an issue. Although we faced the road I found it quiet and was able to sleep well for the two nights we were there. Of course the fact that we raced from event to event and toured everything possible meant I was super exhausted at night. For me, St Augustine Tryp hit all the right notes. It was my kind of space, clean, comfortable, affordable and family friendly too. Amenities are what you would expect in a mid level affordable chain – fitness room, pool, hot tub, outdoor patio, restaurant with breakfast (extra) and also a small business centre. Free wifi of course and also bottled water in the rooms. Outdoors, the pool was lovely and a decent size to play in or do some laps. Warning – it was chilly in October actually. Hot tub is clean and on deck near the pool. Ample seating on the patio. Nice view and good location for the pool. Everything here at St Augustine Tryp Hotel is new and clean. That makes me happy. Cleanliness should be the standard for all accommodations in every city in Florida. And while many are, we recently had one negative experience that made us a bit apprehensive. However everything in St. Augustine was exceptional and enjoyable. St Augustine is quite drivable and also easy to get around in. The location is about 10 minutes from downtown by shuttle or driving on your own. There’s a ton of activity and so much to see. Many inexpensive shuttles operate in St. Augustine. Ask the desk how long you need to plan for if you have reservations and then ask them to call the shuttle to get you there. Highly recommend a visit. Tryp Hotel St. Augustine Details and Information: 333 S Ponce De Leon Blvd, St Augustine, FL 32084 Tel. and Fax: 1-904-209-5580 The Tryp Hotel St. Augustine is one hotel I wouldn’t hesitate to return to and stay at again. Great for families or girl’s getaways too. It would even suit multi-generational travel. We were guests of Visit Florida and St Augustine Ponte Verda in Florida’s Historic Coast when we visited the area this past month. All travel costs were paid for and accommodations and meals covered as well. My opinion is all my own and it is also truthful.

A good friend is worth celebrating. This year I wanted to gift something special to a good friend and Posterjack acrylic blocks came to mind. Each Posterjack gift you buy can be personalized with a special photograph you cherish. I have in fact used Posterjack here at Thrifty Momma’s Tips a few times to create memorable pieces for around my home. There are so many different options it’s hard to know which to choose. But right now with Posterjack’s Twelve Days of Christmas giveaways going on, you can enter to win your own Acrylic block to give someone special. You can find several other blogs this month also hosting the Twelve Days of Christmas giveaway. This year my choice was simple. This is my very good friend and business partner, Margarita Ibbott at Linked Moms twitter parties. Together we have done a lot this year, and the last few years. We’ve hosted dozens of twitter parties as a team. As business partners we have travelled many miles together to build the business and the contacts and generate some quality time strategizing on the road as well. This summer at a conference in New York City we both were able to see The Blue Man Group together. It was quite an experience. I chose a photo of the two of us in New York City together at Blue Man Group to turn into an acrylic block for on her desk. It is one of the many personalized gifts I love from Posterjack. Anyways, I loved that the acrylic block series by Posterjack can sit right on your desk and doesn’t require any big planning or hanging expertise. I love Posterjack for the variety of personalized gifts that they offer. The acrylic is thick and sturdy and the Posterjack acrylic blocks always stand up. The other thing I love about Posterjack is the speedy service. Right now Posterjack is hosting a 12 Days of Giveaways event across several blogs. Each of the winners will win one of these that they can make themselves and have finished well before the holidays. Each giveaway is only one day long so you need to enter fast!! Each giveaway is also only open to Canadians. Good Luck!! Happy shopping and don’t forget to visit Posterjack for all your personalized gifts this season. Entry-Form I was provided with product for purposes of this post and Posterjack also offered to gift one of these to one lucky Canadian reader. My opinion is all my own and it is 100% truthful.

Okay now don’t pay attention to my hideous bangs that were not behaving in this picture. At the time I really didn’t care. This picture was taken on our last day together at Mom 2.0 summit in Arizona. These ladies are simply fabulous and if you don’t follow them yet, you must. Merry Spooner Kuchle (whose name I finally figured out how to pronounce correctly) has an infectious personality and was my roommate on this, my second ever Mom 2.0 conference experience. She blogs at Merry About Town and lives in Calgary. Debbie Kee Balino is Babystylista. She rocks. She is THE baby and toddler fashion blogger. She also occasionally blogs about her fertility struggles and her five miscarriages. I loved meeting her for the first time ever in person as we talk a lot due to common experiences. There’s something incredible about meeting and connecting in person with the people you talk to and read on line all the time. It’s just a kick in the pants. For three days we were Arizona Canucks. By the way Arizona is drop dead gorgeous and you really need to travel there. I plan to take my family, but as my husband pointed out – NOT in the summer months. Now what’s your Wordless Wednesday post?
