What’s one of your favourite outdoor adventures? Recently we discovered a spot that wowed us with lush Carolinian forests, nearby beaches, darkest of skies, and thrilling outdoor activities all day long. You might be surprised to discover it’s closer than you realized. Right before school returned I decided to take the girls somewhere fun. Little did I know when I started browsing Glamping Hub that I would find my new favourite outdoor adventures destination this close to home at Long Point Eco Adventures near Turkey Point in nearby Norfolk County, Ontario. The possibility of zip lining and axe throwing, spotting stars late at night and staying in a wilderness safari tent while glamping appealed to me immensely. It seemed like an ideal way to launch a new school year, or start the Fall season. I had all sorts of questions as you always do when you pick a new spot out of the blue. How close was it to the beach and how far from food and restaurants? Was the zip lining still open? It was almost Labour Day after all and some attractions at various Ontario tourist destinations wind down close to Labour Day. So, as I often do on my family trips, I hoped for the best, researched as much as I could and then hopped in the van and drove away with my kids for a couple of days. So Where is this Destination? Roughly 90 to 100 minutes from London, and about the same distance from Toronto, Long Point Eco Adventures is a great option for a quick getaway. Once you leave Highway 401 it’s a leisurely drive through the countryside and a short scenic hilly jaunt up past numerous wineries. When we arrived we checked into our safari style tent in the wilderness suites section. Featuring two queen beds, our safari tent was spacious enough for the three of us and posh for camping, with a canopied veranda, sliding doors, fan, free wifi, heating blankets and a clean indoor washroom. An outdoor rain shower attached by zipper to the washroom is a literal breath of fresh air. Long Point Eco Adventures also features adorable unique to the area wooden camping pods and wilderness pods, which would have been too small for us, but were super cute with a romantic feel. I’d definitely consider those if I travelled on my own or with my husband. The first thing I noticed was that the wilderness suites safari tents didn’t face inward although placed in a circle. You enter wilderness suites from a patio door around the back. Punctuated with Muskoka chairs and flowering plants, a small seating area faces out onto the quiet trails and woods so you have privacy from your neighbour’s tent. Outdoor Immersion Therapy Totally just made that phrase up but that’s what it felt like for me. Walk right off your patio and onto a trail. That’s pretty sweet. One afternoon while sitting outside, sipping a cold beverage, I heard a loud buzzing near my ear and looked up fast to spy a hummingbird at eye level maybe ten feet from me. It’s the closest I have ever seen a hummingbird and had no idea their wings made so much noise. Sleep was excellent and we left tent flaps up for air and to hear the outdoors. One evening that meant waking to coyotes singing in the marsh which added to the ambience for us. Our outdoor adventures at Long Point Eco Adventures Ontario were a scream from the second we arrived. After settling in and taking a few photos, the three of us did axe throwing lessons together. It was my first time axe throwing and my oldest daughter had never done this before either. While it took us a few tries to warm up, and a few Walking Dead jokes, our coach was patient and he gave good directions advising us to move closer as we tried two handed overhead throw and then again as we moved on to a different sized axe for one handed throwing. Turns out I was much better at the one handed throws and I even landed a bullseye eventually. Naturally there was a competition at the end and Ainsley, my youngest sporty girl, who did axe throwing at Pioneer Camp Ontario in August, won twice. We immediately discovered that this glamping girl’s getaway was close to two beaches at least. Lovely Long Point was about 15 minutes away with super shallow entry to Lake Erie making it suitable for kids and families. Turkey Point was a mere five minute drive, but a bit busier and smaller than Long Point beach. The Food Hot breakfast buffet is included indoors located near the outdoor adventure centre overlooking the marsh. Breakfast consisted of juice or coffee and eggs, bacon, pancakes and home cooked potatoes. There’s also a food truck on site open until 2 p.m. for lunch. My only small criticism was that the food truck which serves lunch is a bit expensive. While the kids enjoyed their sandwiches, for almost $40 I expected something more. Burning Kiln We found several great restaurants nearby and headed out to dinner at the Burning Kiln Winery one night. Their menu is not huge, but several individual appetizers and meals were savoury and the outdoor patio has great ambience overlooking the vineyard and property transformed from a former tobacco tract. Appetizers were top notch featuring a good-sized fresh local cheese and charcuterie platter, surrounded by savoury crostini breads with cranberries and blueberries baked in. In fact I think I might have enjoyed the crostini even more than the ripened and soft cheeses and meats. My daughter had a huge gourmet burger topped with goat cheese and grilled red peppers. And we also tried the fish tacos, that levelled up the heat with a surprising mango salsa. Sandbar On our last night we waited for seats at the Sandbar in Turkey Point, where a musician performed. The cheesy cappelletti was rich and possibly the best I have ever eaten. Good fuel after our outdoor adventures all weekend. The patio is buggy so don’t sit out there at night. Servers were efficient and friendly and the crowd was mixed, with many couples enjoying the live music. We live in London, Ontario, which is not so far away, but surprisingly this was our first visit to the Norfolk County area. We honestly had no idea we’d find this many outdoor adventures so close to home. Day two saw us doing the four hour Big Creek kayaking tour. We enjoyed our visit thoroughly and I highly recommend the Big Creek paddle tour kayaking with Brian and Leeann. They are exceptional and extremely passionate about nature and the ecosystem in this area. While kayaking, we met a family from Alberta who had driven across the country to have a vacation before settling their daughter in at Western for her first year university. LOVED that they opted for Norfolk County as a memorable outdoor adventure destination for their family trip before university. Brilliant choice. The rest of day two we hiked, and explored Ontario’s southwest and its beaches. After kayaking we decided to drive to Port Rowan. Cute, cottages and a pretty colourful marina, peppered with outdoor farmer’s markets and small shops to browse make Port Rowan worth visiting. Continue on down the road to the bird sanctuary or to Long Point beach. Saving the Best for Last For our final morning we tried the zip lining and canopy tour with suspension bridges through the Carolinian forest on site. This tree top outdoor adventure is safe and not overly high, while also being fun and manageable, which makes it perfect for teen travel companions. We have zip lined several places and the difficulty level of this activity is a 5 or 6 out of 10. For me the most challenging piece was rappelling at the end and then the 80 stairs uphill to return to the centre and remove the harness. Safari wilderness tents have WIFI access and the patio doors lock so you can feel pretty safe here. It’s not really roughing it by any stretch. The winery scene in the area is really hot and definitely worth checking out. You can do the Toast the Coast tour, self guided and visit several wineries and a brewery or two. This was an excellent way for us to end the summer and I think it’s worth noting that this could be a lovely romantic weekend away or a great spot to visit for a retreat of any sort. TIPS: Bring your bikes and bike locks for mountain biking to conquer many trails nearby. Most importantly BRING the heavy duty bug spray because mosquitoes here mean business. Try to book the observatory early. It is extremely popular. Camp fires most nights are lit in a common area near the old dining tent, if fires are permitted depending on the threat level etc. Choose from wilderness pods, wilderness suites and camping pods. Each vary in size. LOOK up. This is a soon to be dark sky destination…skies are stunning and on a clear night you can see half a dozen constellations easily. Final Thoughts on Norfolk County Outdoor Adventures If you arrive earlier in the season you will have more options for outdoor activities. The Lavender farm is done blooming by mid summer so we didn’t visit. And there are a wide variety of water sports you can indulge in at the area beaches which are a short drive away. These wind down at end of the summer. We are super satisfied and really made some amazing memories here at Long Point Eco Adventures in Norfolk County. Unlock the outdoor adventures destination badge at Long Point Eco Adventures. We were guests of Norfolk County Tourism while visiting the area and we received all accommodations and outdoor adventures in exchange for honest coverage here.

Who knew that Norfolk County was a destination full of potential adventures so close to home? I certainly had no idea when I booked a quick trip to visit Long Point Eco Adventures this summer. In fact, I originally pictured a few fun activities and some relaxing at the beach. What we ended up with was so much more. This summer, right before school went back, I decided to take my girls on a quick trip somewhere in Ontario. We looked at a few options and also checked Glamping Hub for ideas. (my guilty pleasure) Then we landed on Long Point Eco Adventures and decided we’d give glamping a try. Norfolk County looked quaint and to be honest it wasn’t an epic drive from London, at under 100 minutes door to door. So, Norfolk County and Long Point Eco Adventures won out. We arrived early on a Thursday and checked in at Long Point Eco Adventures where we were staying in a very cool safari tent. Then we set out to have some fun and do all the things we didn’t have time for in the summer. Here’s what we found. 41 Amazing Things to Do in Norfolk County It’s a cliche to say Norfolk County is a hidden gem. So suffice it to say Norfolk County wowed us at every turn and we loved our visit. In fact it was one of the most memorable and adventuresome vacations we have experienced together in a long time. There are a zillion reasons to visit this county. Here are 41 of the ones we discovered in under 3 days. We tried many of these and throughly enjoyed them. Long Point Eco Adventures AWESOME spot to stay. Highly recommend. Just a short drive to 2 or 3 beaches and the accommodations here are so much fun. Loved our safari style tent in the Wilderness Suites and couldn’t have asked for anything better honestly. This is not hardcore camping. It’s glamping and now we can say we stayed in a safari tent! There are also pods for 1-2 people. Super cute. Zip lining at Long Point Eco Adventures OH man this is a scream, literally. Lasts a bit more than two hours and you need to check height and weight of any kids traveling with you if you want to do this with children. In fact if they are under 12 you are probably out of luck because the zip line doesn’t work if you are too light or too short for it. WE loved this and doing a zip line course together is always memorable. The course was about 8 sections of zip lining and it lasted a bit over 2 hours. Rappelling It’s part of the zip line at the end. That was my first time and the highest point I have ever rappelled from. One of my girls has done this before at camp and was a pro. I was no pro but enjoyed it too. Suspension bridges This was also part of our zip lining adventure. If you do the zip lining then you will automatically also do the suspension bridges. I recall there were two. Try Your Hand or Arm at Axe throwing Right at Long Point Eco Adventures. LOVED trying this for the first time. Take a three hour lesson or do a session with a group. So fun. Hike the Trails at Long Point Eco Adventures There are several trails waiting to be explored at Long Point Eco Adventures. You will need heavy duty big spray here because the mosquitoes are hard core. Cycle the Trails at Long Point Eco Adventures Many many cyclists were taking advantage of the trail system here on the site itself when we visited. Visit Turkey Point The beach is decent and family friendly from where we were staying it was a five minute drive. Camp at Turkey Point Provincial Park or Long Point Provincial Park. Obviously family friendly and not so far from home if you live in Toronto, London, Kitchener, Windsor area. The Sandbar at the Beach This is the place to be at night. Be prepared to wait during busy season and you may want to sit inside. The beach is super buggy at night. We had a cheesy cappelletti dish that I was wishing we had ordered 2 or 3 of. Best cappelletti I have had actually. Dancing and also musicians. Looked like everyone in the area had the same idea the Friday night we visited. Inflatable Water Trampoline Have fun and be safe. At Turkey Point you can also use the inflatable water trampoline in the summer. Go For a Paddle We did a four hour kayaking tour of Big Creek with Big Creek Paddle. Leeann and Brian were excellent guides. They took the picture above of us kayaking. The kayaking tour was relaxing and really just a great way to spend a chunk of a day learning about he ecosystems in this area. Gorgeous scenery. Canoeing Bring your canoe with you or rent one at Turkey Point or Long Point. Both are lovely beaches. Long Point has very shallow entry. We spent a couple of hours there one day and waded out pretty far safely on foot. Turkey Point water seemed a tiny bit rougher the day we visited that beach. But there were a few canoes at Turkey Point when we were there. Burning Kiln Winery Enjoy the wine tasting or have dinner. Or both. We had a good meal here one night. Highly recommend the charcuterie appetizer. Blueberry Hill Estate Winery and Bakery Try the blueberry treats, visit their market style store with fresh produce and pies. OR simply purchase the Blueberry wine like I did. Almost every one of the winery locations we discovered had sample flights for $5. Try several of the wines they offer and then choose which one you wish to take home. Inasphere Winery Take photos overlooking the marsh and the fields where the grapes are grown. The chairs outside the winery in back have one of the best views I have seen in Norfolk County Go Fishing Port Rowan has an excellent harbour and marina area for this. Bring your fishing poles, buy some bait and sit for hours if you wish. Visit Port Rowan A very pretty little port town on Lake Erie adjacent to Long Point. It is maybe a 30 minute drive at most from Long Point Eco Adventures. Shopping, food and a Farmer’s Market all make it lovely. This area is apparently a growing retirement community and a birdhouse capital of Canada. It’s an area known for fishing, birding, and also boating. Wished we could have taken more time here actually. It’s a great spot for photos. Visit the Farmer’s Market The day we drove to Port Rowan they had a farmer’s market set up so naturally we had to check that out. There are a couple of others in the county too. Great fresh produce. Simcoe Farmer’s Market is open every Thursday at the Norfolk County Fair Grounds. Waterford and Port Dover also have markets. Long Point Drive to Long Point World Biosphere. There are 20 places within Norfolk County itself designated as Amazing Places. You want to see many of these yourself. Long Point World Biosphere is the only spot I have ever driven in with my family where the road signs read Give Wildlife a Chance and Brake for Snakes. That definitely caught my eye. Get Outdoors and Go for a Walk You can do this pretty much anywhere in Norfolk County. It’s a beautiful spot with many trails and beaches. Summer Sea-Doo Rentals – Turkey Point Rent one in the summer months right at the beach. Boat Tours There are many to choose from in Long Point or Turkey Point. There’s plenty of boating in Port Rowan too. Stand up Paddle boarding Bring your own or rent one at Turkey Point. Star Gazing Norfolk County is currently vying for a dark sky designation. That process takes time so fingers crossed as they wait for this designation to hopefully happen in the next year or two. The constellations are clear as can be on a night without cloud cover. It was truly remarkable. I tried to take photos but was impossible to capture the sky. Suffice it to say it was one of the clearest most beautiful night sky views I have ever seen. My oldest girl pointed out about 5 constellations easily. OR You Can do this….Observatory on site at Long Point Eco Adventures Warning it is extremely popular and books up fast. This was fully booked when we visited. Just means we need to return another time to experience this too. Camp fires Of course always pay attention to whether camp fires are allowed or if there’s a fire ban obey it. But the nights we were at Long Point Eco Adventures a lovely camp fire started at dusk. Bring your own equipment to make S’mores and you might want to bring your own lawn chairs. The night we gathered by the campfire it was super popular. Birding Spy over 400 different species of birds in the Carolinian Forests here. The Long Point Birding Trail is a project of Long Point Bird Observatory. Birds start to arrive in March – tundra swans and the mid May time period holds the greatest diversity of birds in the area. So visit in mid-May for maximum birding. Visit Long Point Bird Observatory Here a group of mostly volunteers catch, identify, measure and weight birds before banding them and releasing them. Great educational activity for anyone. Port Dover You already know it as that spot where the bikers all gather on Friday the 13th annually. Also a lovely spot to visit. Simcoe Visit for the restaurants and stay for the shopping. About 30 minutes from Long Point Eco Adventures. Fishing Charters Book them right from Long Point Eco Adventures if you are so inclined. Long Point Bay is well now for sport fishing. Apiary Tours This right here would be my nightmare actually. But that doesn’t mean it won’t appeal to you. Book a tour via Long Point Eco Adventures and then put your bee-keeping suit on as you head to Vanessa’s to see bees up close. $45 per person currently. Honey tasting might be involved. Toast the Coast Trail This area in Norfolk County has unique growing conditions for grapes and is an emerging wine region. The Toast the Coast trail is a new self directed tour of wineries and breweries along Ontario’s South Coast. I made it into three of the wineries. I could easily see this being a great girlfriend’s getaway activity, or even a romantic weekend activity for any couple. Excellent and really unique wines in this region. Currently Norfolk County is vying for their VQA status. Visit a Lavender Farm Early in the season the lavender farm is a riot of purples and a wonderful sensory experience. In late August when we visited it was all done blooming. So my advice is to go earlier in the summer to see the lavender fields. Pick your Own… This is always fun especially if you are travelling with kids. Pick your own fresh berries or whatever else you find at the various pick your own farms in this gorgeous county. Doesn’t get fresher than that. Antiquing If that’s your particular hobby you will find many small antique shops all over the county. FlyBoarding at Turkey Point If you have never tried FlyBoarding this you should give it a whirl at least once. Book it here – Turkey Point Flyboard Rentals. Mountain Biking and Mountain Biking Camps The Turkey Point Mountain Bike Club offers 80 km plus of single track groomed trails. The county is also home to over 45 kms of rails now converted to trails. And also there’s the Backus Woods trail that’s good for winter sports as well such as snowshoeing and cross country skiing. There are 12 kms of trails in Backus Woods on 700 acres of property. Backus Heritage Conservation Area We didn’t get here because we ran out of time but I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention it. This is an open air museum and grist mill. Camping, fishing, hiking and educational programs all take place here. There’s a nature centre too. Visit the Backhouse Grist Mill of 1798. Bayfest In Port Rowan at the end of the summer every year is Bayfest. Come play by the bay on Labor Day weekend. Midway rides, entertainment and fireworks. It was just starting when we were there and the rides were all set up. Family friendly and super fun for younger kids. Adventure Awaits Close to Home Norfolk County is an outdoor lover’s paradise. So happy we found this beautiful destination and will definitely return another year. We found it so peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommend for families with teens or tweens. Great idea for a corporate getaway or a romantic weekend too. We were guests of Norfolk County Tourism while visiting the area and we received all accommodations and activities in exchange for honest coverage here.

Mountain getaways are so romantic to me. There’s something about the idea of spending time away in a mountain retreat that I find so appealing. Wood walls. fireplaces, the wilderness surrounding the cabin – it’s so beautiful and heartwarming and peaceful. That being said, I want to enjoy those mountain getaways in style. I love cabins, but I’m not looking for something TOO rustic. Right now, with Valentine’s Day coming up fast I have been browsing all the great ideas for getaways on Glamping Hub. Glamping Hub offers mountain getaways that make excellent Valentine’s Day ideas. Mountain Getaways Don’t Have to Mean Roughing It My idea of roughing it is woods around me while I relax in a cozy chalet with a hot cup of tea and a nice book. I don’t want to sleep in a sleeping bag or on a bed that’s 100 years old. I want climate control, heat mostly this time of year, comfortable rooms, and modern appliances. With Glamping Hub, that’s what you get. Just like their name says, Glamping Hub is all about the glamping. And that’s a pretty broad term. Their website features incredibly beautiful cabins that combine the best of that old school cabin feel with modern sensibilities like top notch kitchens and posh living and sleeping rooms. From tree houses in Ontario, which I am filing away for the summer with kids, to chalets near amazing mountains in Vermont, Quebec or Upstate New York, and even domes in Finland, Glamping Hub offers a wide range of accommodations. Think of it like an on line curated source of high quality accommodations where nature gets the starring role. All of their homes and various properties are fully vetted to ensure that each and every one meets their exacting standards of quality, comfort, and beauty. When you visit Glamping Hub, you’ll be entering a world of the best of the best in cabins, nature, and pure escapism. And that’s perfect for this time of year. After all, what says romance more than mountain getaways in the wilderness. You can look out your window and take in the beauty of the surrounding mountains and trees while you relax with your loved one in quiet surroundings this Valentines day. Skiing, hiking, exploring or just relaxing. There’s nothing better in my books. When I travel I love to be close to nature and easily able to see either mountains or water. Skiing, hiking, or swimming, either way I am happy. This ski season I have been hunting for accommodations near one of the ski hills we have not yet visited in Vermont. There are numerous options at different price points and sizes. I’ll be sure to let you know what I choose. Glamping Hub is easy to navigate and I am using the reviews portion to clarify and verify that the properties on my shortlist are exactly what I want. Did you know Glamping Hub currently has 220,000 properties listed all over the world? And they are in 800 countries. Family vacations, camping with kids, or romantic getaways – you will be the hero when you book via their easy travel site. [tweetthis]Camping with kids this summer? Give Glamping Hub a try. [/tweetthis] Mountain Getaways You’ll Love with Glamping Hub Glamping Hub makes mountain getaways easy, exciting and fun. There are so many amazing properties listed here. The tree houses are on my list for summer. Last year we stayed in a yurt for the first time ever and loved it so I am interested in doing that again using this resource. But first mountain getaways. Follow Glamping Hub on Facebook too. This post was sponsored by Glamping Hub and as such I received compensation. My opinion is all my own and it is also truthful.

Yurt life is a hit! Let me explain. To start you should know that I have always said I would never camp. Not a camper, I told my girls. We travel, cruise, stay in cottages, and love that life. But sleeping on the ground in a tent is not for me. But, that said, there are so many different ways to access camping or glamping now that you really need never sleep on the ground in a tent to get all the benefits of camping. This past week we had the chance to go stay in a yurt for several days at Wasaga Pines. Wasaga Beach is one of my family favourites in Ontario and Wasaga Pines, just outside the beach area, is owned by Parkbridge Resorts. So, I figured it had to be trustworthy and fun. After all we love Parkbridge Resorts. So, when I learned that Wasaga Pines had yurts available for family stays this year, I worked hard at finding a date to go visit. The last week of August, right after my younger daughter returned from two weeks of camp, we drove to Wasaga Beach. On the way there, we picked up my nephew Alex, who is the same age as Ainsley and was equally excited to try yurt life. Camping is an affordable easy summer family travel style that works for many. We love travel and we enjoy being outdoors. Here in Canada, nature’s beauty is on full display in summer and Fall too, and it’s so much fun to get out there and enjoy it. What isn’t fun for me is setting up a tent, and sleeping on the ground. Even sleeping inside a tent with a sleeping bag, you can still feel the rocks or the dampness of the ground. Yurt life is my ideal way to experience camping. We really loved our four nights in a yurt at Wasaga Pines Cottage & RV Resort. Yurt Life – The Perfect Camping Compromise Some hard core campers are all about sleeping in a tent on the ground. Others view camping as staying anywhere that’s outdoors like an RV or a cabin. These two camps have very different ideas about the outdoor experience. What we all loved about our Yurt at Wasage Pines Cottage & RV Resort is that it was the perfect compromise. Their yurts offer a rustic feel with the comforts that so many of us don’t want to give up – like beds and electricity! Their yurts are set up on platforms nestled in the woods, so you’re in the heart of nature while you stay a bit comfortable too. You still get to cook outdoors and gaze at the stars, but you can also enjoy sleeping on a bed and bring your laptop if you’re like me and work never stops. The bar fridge was useful for us too. Stocked it with fish and cooked it on the stove my sister-in-law lent us. Barbecues are available too for yurts. PIN FOR LATER – > Yurt Life at Wasaga Pines Cottage & RV Resort Gives You: Bunk Beds Futon Couch or Trundle Bed Dining Table and Chairs Electricity Picnic Table Fresh Water Available Nearby Comfort Station with Bathrooms, Hot Showers, and Heated Floors Nearby (honestly it was less than a five minute walk which mattered at 3 a.m.) Wasaga Pines is halfway between Wasaga Beach and Elmvale. It feels country like and yet you can drive anywhere you need to within ten minutes. We hit the beach twice while there. But you could also stay entirely on site and still have plenty to do. Before we left all three kids asked if we could return again next year. So I would definitely say that our first ever stay in a yurt was a great one thanks to Wasaga Pines and Parkbridge Resorts. There are many traditional camp sites at the RV resort and campground. And they have seasonal members too. Many of their kids were typically out and about and very friendly. The trio of teens I was traveling with easily made friends with several kids of various ages. Yurt Life is the Camping Life for Us! If you want to camp but still stay comfortable, yurt life is for you! The ability to get back to nature without all the discomfort is so great! If you’ve ever been camping in the classic way, you’ll really appreciate things like beds, electricity, and TOILET PAPER! We had a great time without feeling like we were cheating. The Yurt was comfortable and cozy too. I highly recommend giving the yurt life at Wasaga Pines Cottage & RV Resort a try. We were guests of Parkbridge and Wasaga Pines which means we stayed there and received accommodations in exchange for this honest post about the experience. My opinion is all my own and it is always truthful.

There’s so much to love about summer. The longer days can be magical, even if you wish there were many more of them. Make the most of all the hours, all the days from May through September. Bring your A game, but don’t worry if you haven’t booked your vacation yet. This week, we are going to help you figure out what you need to know to be a summer hero. Join the Parkbridge Resorts Linked Moms twitter party this week and be a summer hero for 2017. Parkbridge Resorts will help you build beautiful memories this season. We have loved every single visit to Lakes of Wasaga, in winter and summer too. In 2014 we visited Lakes of Wasaga for the first time. The kids brought a good friend and we spent time swimming, having great food and playing near the beach. WE loved the grounds and even spied a beaver near the one lake on site. We have done a couple of summer stays now. And we have happy memories of these fun times with family. Every Family Day in February we return. Our winter stays are some of our most memorable. We spend the weekend skiing nearby and then collapse exhausted late at night. The Lakes of Wasaga, Georgian Bay cabins and ski chalets are warm and perfect for apres ski. Plus the fully stocked and well appointed kitchens mean we can cook a big protein rich breakfast and comfort food for dinner too. That’s vital when you spend hours on end skiing. Parkbridge, Canada’s leading owner and operator of land lease communities, believes in affordable, comfortable and secure places to live, vacation and retire. Parkbridge has four types of properties: Cottage & RV Resorts, Retirement Communities, Family Lifestyle Communities & Marinas. You can rent or buy. They have locations in Alberta, British Columbia, Quebec, and Ontario. They currently operate 124 communities in Canada! The Lakes of Wasaga cabins are amazing, clean and spacious. They are heated, safe and family friendly. You can easily spend a week or two there as many have fully stocked kitchen areas. We found everything we needed every time we stayed here. So a family could easily sleep 5 to 6 in a cabin the size of the one we had. There are many nearby stores if you need to run out and grab some food to cook in the well equipped kitchen. [tweetthis]RSVP now for WEDS. April 26 at 8 p.m. EST #ParkbridgeLife – prizes ARV $1200 plus.[/tweetthis] As well, Parkbridge has are options to purchase a cabin as well. There are amenities for people of all ages and each Parkbridge community is unique. Stay a week, a month, an entire summer or longer. You can rest all summer long when you know your property is being well maintained by the team at Parkbridge. If you have ever contemplated cottage ownership but worried about upkeep, well here you have much less to worry about that way. At Parkbridge your home away from home is taken care of when you are away.

It was a rainy afternoon in August and our second day at Parkbridge Resorts, Lakes of Wasaga. We were there for three nights as guests. The kids had a friend with them and I was wrestling with the urge to tell them all to get off their Nintendos when I heard my youngest daughter holler: “There’s something over there by the lake.” All three children threw their sandals on and they ambled towards the lake. That weekend we had already spied dozens of groundhogs, we’d been swimming multiple times, made our own fishing poles of twine and branches, spied many fish, played some board games, been mini golfing and picked up about 30 different frogs and toads. The rumour was that there was a beaver living in the bullrushes near the picturesque lake at Lakes of Wasaga. I followed after the kids with my iPhone in my hand, partly skeptical and a wee bit hopeful that they had found the fabled creature of the lake. I stared at a rock and was ready to leave, after all my mission had been accomplished anyways: the kids had dropped electronics to interact, investigate and explore the natural surroundings. As I turned, the rock moved. I have never ever seen a beaver up close before but there it was. It was unmistakably a beaver. The rumours were true. We didn’t believe it until we saw it for ourselves. That kind of describes the entire stay at a Parkbridge Resort Community. You won’t believe it until you are there. Parkbridge, Canada’s leading owner and operator of land lease communities believes in affordable, comfortable and secure places to live, vacation and retire. Parkbridge has four types of properties: Cottage & RV Resorts, Retirement Communities, Family Lifestyle Communities & Marinas. [tweetthis]Parkbridge has four types of properties: Cottage & RV Resorts, Retirement Communities, Family Lifestyle Communities & Marinas.[/tweetthis] The cabins are clean and spacious. So a family could easily sleep 5 to 6 in a cabin the size of the one we had. There are many nearby stores if you need to run out and grab some food to cook in the well equipped kitchen. There are also options to purchase a cabin as well. You can rent, or buy which makes this a really appealing way to manage a yearly family vacation or an entire season of glamping. This is my kind of stay. Glamping in a gorgeous cabin, not too far from the beach, but also secluded enough to feel like you are away from the city. Looking to get away this summer at an affordable price? This is a great solution. Check out the resorts section on the Parkbridge website and browse the map, or search resorts by name: http://www.parkbridge.com/en-ca/Pages/CottageRVResorts.aspx [tweetthis]This is my kind of stay, glamping, #ParkbridgeLife not far from the beach, or major urban centre and yet somehow also in a secluded restful atmosphere.[/tweetthis] [tweetthis]Parkbridge Resort and Lifestyle Communities #ParkbridgeLife are located throughout Ontario, Alberta, Quebec and British Colombia.[/tweetthis] There are amenities for people of all ages and each community is unique in what it offers. Stay a week, a month, an entire summer or a whole season from April through to Thanksgiving. You can rest easy, relaxing all summer long when you know your property is being well maintained by the team at Parkbridge. I know I am not the only one out there who has contemplated cottage ownership at one time or another but thought to themselves I am not sure I want to be driving every weekend to a cottage just to make sure the grass is cut and the water hasn’t overflowed and that nobody has broken in while I was away. At Parkbridge your home away from home is taken care of when you are away. You can learn more about Parkbridge Lifestyle Communities this month at our Linked Moms twitter party April 15 at 8 p.m. EST. There are $1200 worth of prizes!! RSVP now for the possibility of winning a prize. The grand prize will be a three night stay at one of the many Parkbridge Lifestyle Communities in Canada. [tweetthis]RSVP Now for a chance to win a three night stay at a Parkbridge Resort. #ParkbridgeLife[/tweetthis] Eligibility Rules are here: Read them so you don’t lose out. Please remember to show Parkbridge Lifestyle Communities some love on their social channels: Twitter – @ParkbridgeLife Facebook – Parkbridge Lifestyle Communities. and follow the hosts as well for a chance to win. @LinkedMoms @inkscrblr @downshiftingpro We can’t wait to share this with you! See you there! Remember to RSVP with your twitter handle. And this particular party, the prizes are only open to Canadians.
