I missed Thanksgiving this year. Oh, don’t feel bad for me. I missed out on a big delicious turkey dinner because I left for a fellowship in Zambia the Friday before Thanksgiving. While you were eating turkey I was spotting zebras and elephants and visiting clinics to talk about health care policy in Africa. When I returned to Canada, I heard SUBWAY® had a Carved Turkey Sandwich out and I figured I might get a little turkey time after all. This past weekend was show week here. My kids are ridiculously busy girls. My younger daughter was performing all weekend in The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet. I enjoy seeing them grow while doing the sports, or arts activities they love. And yet, sometimes it means life is nuts and in the middle of show week, even though I rely on my crockpot an awful lot, there are times we just need to get something quick to eat between performances. So, we found ourselves at SUBWAY on Saturday. The running joke at my house is that SUBWAY is the only thing my kids ever ask for…well occasionally they will say pizza too, but when we travel, it’s SUBWAY, SUBWAY, SUBWAY. (We jokingly say it three times every time we see the sign because one of my daughters did that all summer long when we travelled. The signs on the Highway say SUBWAY SUBWAY SUBWAY.) My kids are like a broken record at times. So, when I asked this weekend: “Where do you want to go for dinner?” I should have known the response. I never mind a stop at SUBWAY. There are so many delicious and nutritious options, and there’s always a new sub sandwich every time we go. I have been salivating over SUBWAY’s Carved Turkey Sandwich for a couple of weeks. So I ordered one for myself.,to get my turkey fix in. Honestly, I am not sure words can do it justice. It’s that good. The cranberry mustard sauce is the icing on the cake. SO flavourful. The Carved Turkey sandwich, made with 100% Canadian turkey and topped with an all new cranberry mustard sauce, is now available nationwide at participating locations, for a limited time. This year for National Sandwich Day, Thursday November 3rd, SUBWAY is also giving back to communities around Canada. SUBWAY is partnering with Food Banks Canada and will donate the equivalent of a meal to Food Banks Canada for any sandwich and drink purchase on National Sandwich Day. And as if that’s not enough, SUBWAY will also give customers another free sandwich of equal or lesser value to share with a friend – so you can do good and eat well on National Sandwich Day. SUBWAY will donate over 303,000 meals to Food Banks Canada. So, why not visit your SUBWAY on National Sandwich Day and try the Carved Turkey Sandwich yourself? Get your turkey fix and do some good while you are at it. Food Banks need your support especially around the holidays. Step up, step in to SUBWAY and do something impactful for Food Banks Canada. The generous people at SUBWAY have given me a $50 gift card to share with one lucky reader. Follow the instructions below to win. [tweetthis]Enter now to win a $50 SUBWAY Canada gift card! #giveaways[/tweetthis] This post has been sponsored by SUBWAY which means I was compensated. My opinion is my own and I love SUBWAY. Entry-Form

Subway sandwiches have become a road trip tradition with my family. It’s true. The running joke is that my kids can spot a Subway in any city we go to, and so far, we’ve tested this Subway superpower quite a bit this year! The girls can be half asleep staring at an IPOD when suddenly we hear – “SUBWAY!” Every time we take a road trip, my daughter asks to stop at Subway! Sometimes we barely start out on the road when she begins asking for Subway. Our most recent trip to Quebec was no exception. After we spent our final day enjoying the swimming and other activities at The Fairmont Chateau Montebello, we hopped into the car and stopped for Subway sandwiches for dinner as we passed through Gatineau and Ottawa and headed home. Subway is perfect for healthy and quick eating on a road trip and they are open late. How do I know this? Well, Subway has saved us so many times when coming back from Pearson on a late night/early morning flight. New Subway Sandwiches Satisfy Canadian Appetite for Something Different Subway has so many healthy choices that I never mind when my kids ask to stop on a road trip. There are always new flavours. And lately I have even seen some gluten free breads offered! That makes me feel good. There’s something to suit everyone’s tastes. Subway recently introduced a new Korean BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich to add to their line of delicious options. According to Subway, the tastes of Canadians are changing. These days, we’re looking for more culturally diverse foods to break up the monotony of everyday eating that’s become so…lacklustre. Sharing Subway lunch with this girl @sharkainsleyschuck #bbqseoulfood #food #yum #heat #summer #fun #instafood #spicy #tweens #momofgirls #love #family look for a giveaway on the blog this week. A photo posted by Paula Schuck (@inkscrblr) on Aug 8, 2016 at 11:33am PDT This week my oldest daughter went away to camp so I figured it was time to have a special Subway lunch at home with Ainsley. I have heard so much about the newest Subway sandwich that I couldn’t wait to try it. The Korean BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich is something entirely different for Subway. It’s sweet with a big hit of heat. Have your water or Subway beverage handy. A recent Mintel survey found that 72% of Canadians are turning to ethnic-inspired dishes to break up the aforementioned monotony of every day boredom. The new addition to the line of Subway sandwiches perfectly combines sweet and heat, appealing to Canadians who want to try new and different flavors while still eating at the restaurant they know and trust for quality, healthy, fresh sandwiches – Subway! Korean BBQ Pulled Pork The Korean BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich features tender, slow-roasted pulled pork tossed in a savory glaze infused with soy, garlic, gochujan paste, and sesame oil. Subway recommends topping it with spinach, cucumber, green peppers, and onions. Yum! It just so happens that my entire family loves pulled pork so we couldn’t wait to try this Subway variation. Subway Sandwiches Just Got Spicy. YUM! The new Korean BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich is just what Canadians have been looking for. Trust me on this, or try one for yourself. It’s a spicy sandwich that you will love. Follow the instructions to enter to win one of 2 PRIZE Packages: $25 SUBWAY® Gift Card and #BBQSeoulFood gift package like mine and you can try the Korean BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich too. Kit contains all you need to make your own Korean BBQ, including a custom apron and a kit that highlights key flavours featured in the sandwich. This post was generously sponsored by Subway and I received compensation. My opinion is all my own and it is truthful. Entry-Form
