In the summer, we spend a lot of time at the pool. It’s our happy place and honestly also the focal point of my summer workout routine. Being able to jump in the pool after dinner, or on a scorching hot long weekend afternoon makes June, July and August worth looking forward to all year long. But, that said, swimming and sunny days take a toll on your skin. We all know that firsthand. But what can you do about it? Learning how to avoid common skin hazards of swimming can help swimmers manage water-related skin diseases and irritations while enjoying the pool again. Be a Bathing Beauty Constant contact with water produces some common skin hazards in swimmers. Swimming pools, whirlpools, rivers, lakes and oceans all have their own health risks on the skin of swimmers. Here’s how to avoid and take care so you don’t have to skip swimming or sit life out on the deck this season. Remember These Things to Steer Clear of Common Skin Hazards This Season SPF – Sunscreen First and foremost – use regular sun protection during swimming. A sun protection cream with an SPF of 30 or above should be applied to the exposed areas before venturing out in the sun or going anywhere near the water. Reapplication is necessary every 2-3 hours as water may wash off some of the cream. Toss the bottles when they have expired and keep plenty on hand all season long. Don’t forget to check for things like whether the sunscreen is water resistant or waterproof. This is important for swimmers. Moisturize Apply moisturizers under your swimsuit. This will reduce chances of irritation and allergy from the material. Generally this is just a good rule of thumb for life. Moisturize always whether you swim or not. Shower I am guilty of not doing this often enough. I like the smell of a summer day and the swimming pool. But it is best for your skin if you shower immediately after swimming. Wipe skin with a towel and apply a moisturizer over the moist skin immediately afterwards. Applying moisturizer when the skin is still a bit damp will seal in moisture. In the summer we live in our pool. One of us, or all of us, are always in doing laps or simply playing and diving. Summer is short, so we have to take advantage of swimming pool season. But the bromine and the time spent sunning and immersed definitely can take a toll on your skin. Take these precautions and remember after care and you will feel a lot better about getting back in next time. And Don’t Forget These Common Sense Tips Reapply sunscreen lotions as often and as needed. Remain in the shade when not swimming and cover up. HYDRATE!! Your skin needs water so drink up and your body will thank you. Don’t Miss this – > Summer Bucket List Printable! I know it’s tempting to consume fun summertime alcoholic drinks by the pool and nobody is saying not to do that. But also drink water and remind yourself of your limits. A couple of drinks no problem and also drink the water. My rule of thumb is a glass of water with or after any alcoholic beverage. Tips on How to Manage Water-Related Skin Diseases Sunburns: If you do get sunburns after swimming, immediately cover the area with either aloe vera or a moderately potent topical steroid ointment. Put on cotton clothing which will feel lighter on your inflamed skin and go sit indoors, preferably in air conditioning. You can alternate the steroid application with aloe vera containing moisturizing creams, once the acute burn starts subsiding. Avoid going out in the sun or swimming during daytime for five to seven days. Take an antihistamine if you feel you need one. Drinking lots of water and fresh juices (except mango) will keep your skin hydrated and cool. Avoid alcohol and beer in excess, as these can have a drying effect on the skin. For severe sun burns you need to see a dermatologist. Contact Dermatitis Skin allergy caused by chemicals or aquatic life needs to be treated by a dermatologist or family doctor. If you get itching during or immediately after swimming (with or without rashes), take an antihistamine as above. Get out of the water and apply a moisturizing lotion to the area. It is a good idea to carry an antihistamine and a moderately potent topical steroid in your first aid kit when you go swimming. You might ask for a prescription from your doctor or you could simply get one over the counter at the pharmacy. You should be aware of the side effects of topical steroids before using them. Aquagenic Urticaria, Cold Urticaria or Aquagenic Pruritus If you are suffering from any of these allergies to water or cold water, it is best to avoid swimming altogether. Swimming in the sea and swimming pools are definitely out of question if you have cold or aquagenic urticaria. If you get only mild itching, you may take a non sedating antihistamine at least half an hour before going in. Alert your companions and the life guard of your problem so they can keep an eye on you and always consult a doctor before and maybe even after swimming too. Skin infections following swimming Wash the body with fresh tap water immediately after bathing. Use an antibacterial soap. At the earliest sign of infection, an antibiotic cream like fucidin should be applied o the area. Most superficial infections will cease with this. If the infection is not showing signs of responding in a day, see your doctor. Dryness Applying a moisturizing cream or lotion immediately after swimming keeps the skin moist. Swimmer’s Ear You might consider putting a thick pad of cotton inside the ear before going to swim. Or you might wear ear plugs. Dry the ear canal with cotton buds immediately after swimming. Eyes My one girl gets super dry eyes after swimming. Sometimes that is better after a good rinse and other times she needs a Benadryl just to stop her eyes from irritating her. There are times you might want to flushing the eyes with saline eye drops a couple of times after swimming. Goggles in the water make the most sense, but when dealing with tweens and teens sometimes they just don’t listen and opt not to use goggles so you may need the Benadryl afterwards if eyes are irritated. Take Care and Use Moderation In addition to the above, there are other common skin hazards that can occur. You want to enjoy your time swimming or outdoors in the nice weather, so remember that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. And more than anything sunscreen and shade, as well as water, are all your friends during the summer months!

Do you have sensitive skin? Me too sometimes. My younger daughter is the same actually but she’s prone to itching and feeling the impact of harsh fragrance first. Recently I bought a night cream that seemed excellent and was super moisturizing. But it actually made my skin break out. So I stopped using it and gave my skin a break. Then I tried it again. Sure enough I broke out immediately again. When you are an entrepreneur running your own business and brand that’s completely not cool. And together with my daughter we have many stories like that. Sometimes I absorb the loss and don’t use a product again but other times I am faced with returning products that don’t work. Do you have really sensitive skin? Can you relate? A lot of people with sensitive skin find themselves having to constantly return makeup due to allergic reactions, or breakouts. No matter what the case is, more brands are coming out with lines for sensitive skin or allergies. They might cost a little bit more sometimes, but it can be worth it in the long run to have nice healthy skin. And frankly it’s simpler to find something that works the first time instead of playing the return game. So what are you to do if you love makeup and need moisturizer regularly too? Here are a few tips on what can help your sensitive skin. Sensitive Skin Ideas Use Powders & Mineral Makeup Powder foundations, blushes and other mineral makeup won’t have a lot of ingredients that some other makeup products do, which is what causes the skin to get irritated. Using powders will cause a lot less skin irritations than using liquid foundations. Get Rid of Any Old & Expired Cosmetics Often sensitivity can develop suddenly. Even though a certain product didn’t cause any skin irritations, doesn’t mean it won’t cause problems now. Like food, beauty products can get spoiled. This is important to remember since makeup is being applied to the face and eyes. Eye infections can result and are hard to get rid of. I know way too much about pink eye here and other eye infections. Last year I had one that wouldn’t go away and ended up throwing out all eye makeup twice and starting over. A lifespan for cosmetics: foundations will last about a year; lipsticks lasts one year as well; toss out your mascara after four months; and your powders and blushes can last up to two years. One mistake many people make is forgetting to clean makeup brushes. It’s important to make sure makeup brushes are cleaned on a regular basis, because the dirt and germs on the makeup brushes can cause skin irritation. Find Earth-Tone Eye Shadows Use eye shadows that are earth-toned. For many, colors like cream, beige or tan cause less eye irritation. Many makeup artists will say that red dye used in some shadows causes problems for many people. Others may experience reactions to using purple eye shadows. These are two common and popular shades that can cause irritation to the eyes. Black eye liner and mascara products are the least allergenic of all the other colours. Use Sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or Higher Many dermatologists, makeup artists and skincare specialists will tell people to use products that have an SPF of 15 or higher in them. Check the amount of ingredients always too. The fewer the ingredients, the less likely the sunscreen will create irritation problems. A lot of make up brands are now making foundations that have an SPF of 15 or higher. Remember to check the labels before purchasing to make sure it has the SPF labeled clearly.

This post may contain an affiliate link as a service to readers. If you make a purchase via the link in this post I receive a small commission. Your period can be bittersweet. I mean it’s a symbol of fertility and you either welcome it or dread it monthly for decades. Between mood swings, cramping, and sometimes pregnancy scares, your period has probably given you headaches – both figuratively and literally – for years. Did you know there’s another thing affected by menstruation? I know, I know – that isn’t enough. It’s true, though. Periods affect the look and health of our skin. Your Period and Your Skin Our skin follows a 28-day cycle, just like our periods do. Over the course of four weeks, our skin produces new skin cells at the base of our epidermis. This new layer grows upward, pushing the old cells up and sloughing them off. Our period cycle follows a much similar 28-day format. The four phases of periods are the follicular phase, ovulation, luteal phase (after ovulation and the beginning of the period we recognize), and then finally menstruation. How the Cycle Affects Your Skin Throughout that cycle, our estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone levels fluctuate, sometimes in very large swings. These fluctuations affect wrinkles, skin thickness, and hydration. It’s a rollercoaster ride for our entire body, including our skin. About five days in, estrogen levels drop, leading to dull, sensitive, dry, and dehydrated skin. When ovulation hits, estrogen and testosterone levels rise, giving us that glow we all love. After that, progesterone levels continue to rise, which is when we get the famous “period skin”. We all know it well. It’s that time when we get breakouts. *shudder* How Birth Control Affects Your Skin Some women go on birth control to even out their hormone levels so they feel and look better. While this can work, it’s not always the case. Not all birth-control pills are created equal. Some may work incredibly well for you, while some seem to do next to nothing for your skin. Every woman is different with differing hormonal fluctuations. What works for one woman and her period might not work for your period. How Your Weight Affects Your Skin Your period can be affected by your weight, which can, in turn, affect your skin. Women who are over or underweight can have periods that are less regular and less even. Being over or underweight can cause either too much of a swing in hormone levels or too little. In either case, your skin will be thrown off even worse than a woman with a regular period. Conquering Your Period Skin So now that you know how your period affects your skin, it’s time to start thinking about how to deal with the problem. They key is to give your skin what it needs when it needs it. Let’s break it down. During the first part of your cycle, get a facial to get rid of zits and excess oil deposits in the pores from your previous cycle’s menstruation period. It’s a good idea to do a good exfoliation during this time. During ovulation, gentle toners and dry-brushing help with the spike in estrogen levels in the skin. During menstruation, focus on hydration with masks containing anti-inflammatory ingredients to combat breakouts. That’s it. Your period affects every part of you, including your skin, and knowing what to do about it can help you keep your skin looking its best. Know that you’re armed with the knowledge of how periods affect the skin and what to do about it, go forth and get that beautiful skin you’ve always wanted.

From the moment they arrive, your kids become your number-one priority. We all know it, and there’s nothing wrong with that — but it sometimes causes you to neglect yourself. Here’s the thing: Taking a break and treating yourself is absolutely necessary for a healthy body and mind. Moms need to remember to take care of themselves — and yes, sometimes even spoil themselves — so they can properly take care of their children. BOTOX COSMETIC® treatments here in London, Ontario (or another treatment at the medical spa) are sometimes all the R&R you need to look and feel rejuvenated. And by the way, you deserve it. Why Your Skin Needs Attention Long nights of staying up with a crying baby, followed by even longer days filled with work, chauffeuring your children, and putting food on the table can take a toll on the body, and the skin can be the first telltale sign. Without the proper rest time, your skin can lose moisture, and you can develop dark circles and under-eye bags when you stay up too late. Nightly sleep is the allotted time for brain, body, and skin to repair and renew itself, and lack of sleep robs the body of that opportunity. Stress can exacerbate things, too. When you are stressed, your body releases the hormone cortisol. This release creates a domino effect that eventually attacks healthy skin cells and causes wrinkles and breakouts. What You Can Do About It If you feel that stress is causing you wrinkles, or you just want to look more refreshed, I suggest talking to a dermatologist about BOTOX. It can help smooth forehead wrinkles and soften lines around the eyes. The treatments typically take less than 15 minutes and require no downtime or recovery. This is perfect for a busy mom with 1,000 things on her checklist for the day. Many medical spas also carry JUVÉDERM® here in London, Ontario, which can be a great option to fight back against sunken skin and other skin issues. JUVÉDERM products are facial fillers that can help regain volume in the face and give you a natural-looking youthful complexion. Being a mom is hectic; you are entitled to doing things that are just for you. Getting BOTOX or dermal fillers can help you build confidence to tackle the day. Looking your best can give you that extra push to accomplish everything in your jam-packed agenda. This is a sponsored post, and as such I have been compensated. My opinion is all my own and it is also truthful.

Protecting skin is generally associated with blocking UV rays and moisturizing, but there’s one thing many women do almost every day that is hard on our skin. We wear makeup. To me makeup is a part of most days, but it’s also not the best for your skin. Now Skindinavia has a product that is great at protecting skin and helping it recover from makeup use. Protecting Skin from the Daily Routine If makeup suddenly fell out of fashion tomorrow would you care? I might actually. I tend to be pale without it and that’s not a great look for me. This year I have less and less time for makeup. It’s a total time suck in the morning and it can also be hard on skin. On winter nights I need to “nourish” my dry skin, so that’s not negotiable. And on days when I have in person meetings I apply makeup. But I enjoy those days when I can go without it entirely. Skindinavia Post Makeup Recovery Spray is designed to help skin recuperate from wearing makeup. It’s designed to help us fight the damaging effects of makeup like clogged pores, extra oil, and the resulting skin blemishes that can be caused by wearing makeup and what wearing it does to our skin. It’s simple to use. All you do is spray it on your skin within 5 minutes of removing your makeup, and that’s it. How Skindinavia Works This new post makeup recovery spray has only been on the market for a short time, but it’s already seen a major blast of popularity among makeup artists to keep skin clear after makeup removal. Skindinavia works by delivering zinc, magnesium, and willow bark to help keep skin clear up and feel refreshed after wearing makeup. These ingredients work to reduce oils on the skin as well as to tighten pores and reduce breakouts. In fact, Zinc has been shown to reduce skin breakouts by 50%. I have been using Skindinavia Post Makeup Recovery Spray for about a week. I love the feel of this refreshing spray after I wash my face and remove makeup and dirt from the day. It is light and soothing and seems to make skin radiant and dewy fast. Follow instructions and you will see for yourself. The hardest part of this new product is adding it to your routine and changing your post makeup habits. And while Skindinavia has been shown to work, what I’m just as excited about is that it’s a product that really thinks about our skin’s health. As I mentioned, it’s proven to reduce breakouts and improve skin, but it’s also paraben-free, and just as important to me, it’s cruelty-free. NO animal testing! Give Skin Some Love with Skindinavia Skindinavia is an easy to use spray designed for protecting skin from the daily ravages of makeup and it works. It helps protect our skin and leave it healthier than when we started using it by reducing breakouts, excess oil buildup, and big pores. If you wear makeup regularly, you know how hard it can be on your skin. Skindinavia is designed for protecting skin from the daily makeup grind. Check it out for yourself. I received product in order to write about this topic. My opinion is all my own and it is also truthful.

Natural itch relief is something that’s always in high demand this time of year. Summer is prime season for flying beasts that bite and sting. They’re out there, waiting to feast on your blood or give you a painful sting if you accidentally make them feel threatened. You can try to avoid this uncomfortable part of summer, but chances are, you’re going to get tagged. So with that in mind, here are some natural itch relief methods that really work. Natural Itch Relief – 6 Ways to Ease the Itching and Burning Recently I returned from a travel writer trip, followed by a weekend at camp and my legs were covered in itchy bug bites. SO I had to figure out something that helped with that itchiness. There are several home remedies that can help thankfully. Rather than reaching for a tube of cream or some other medication, why not use the environment to help relieve itchy, painful bug bites and stings? It’s a better, cheaper option than medications, and it fits perfectly with the green lifestyle. Cold Cold is an excellent natural itch relief approach. Ice cube wrapped in a cloth provide much more itch relief than you’d think. The extreme cold works in two ways. Firstly, it numbs the area, helping to dull the itch. Secondly, the cold causes the blood vessels to constrict, which reduces swelling and thus reduces discomfort. Aloe Vera Aloe vera is a classic go-to for natural itch relief. While we mostly associate aloe vera with sunburns, it also works wonders on mosquito bites, as well as stings. The chemicals that sooth burn irritation also help relieve the itching and burning of bites and stings. Tea Bags Having a stressful day? Did a bit or sting contribute to that stress? Well, whip up a little tea and use the used tea bags as a compress. The tannin found in tea is an astringent which helps to draw out toxins in the bite/sting area. Tea Tree Oil Tea tree oil has been called the miracle compound. People use this stuff for all kinds of problems. I’ve even heard of it being used clinically in cleaning the inside of eyelids. In addition to all the many things it does, tea tree oil also provides natural itch relief. Be careful, as some people can be sensitive to essential oils applied to the skin at full strength. Peppermint Whether applied as a poultice using fresh peppermint or dabbing a dilution of peppermint essential oil, this plant is excellent for natural itch relief. The peppermint creates a cooling sensation which can help the itching and burning of bites and stings. Apple Cider Vinegar You can use apple cider to help ease the itching and burning of bites and stings in the same way you use it to alleviate the sting and burn of sunburns. Simply rub a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water on the affected area to help soothe the itch and pain of your most recent bug attack. Apple cider vinegar is recommended over regular vinegar because it is less harsh. Natural Itch Relief is So Simple I’ll bet when you read “natural itch relief” in this post title, you thought there would be a lot of steps involved didn’t you? I get it. Some natural remedies do take some time. Going natural is usually more time consuming than just buying a product at a store. However, these natural itch relief methods are all quick and easy, and that’s really what you want when you’re in the midst of bug bite/sting torment.

Sunburn treatment is something everyone needs at some point. We’ve all been there and then we’ve all felt the miserable sting of a sunburn afterwards. Many of us are old enough to recall a time when sunburns happened and we didn’t really pay too much heed. Now, we know better. As parents, we try to teach our kids that burning their skin now is setting them up for possible cancer later, but sunburns happen even when trying to be careful. Here are a few ideas for how to maximize relief with sunburn treatment. Sunburn Treatment – A Little Old School. A Little New School There’s no end to how people approach treating sunburns. Like almost any ailment, there are all sorts of conflicting ideas on sunburn treatment, and many of them are complete and total myths. Let’s take a look at treatments that are not myths. Old School While some old school methods of treating a sunburn have been proven to be false. There are some that have actually been proven to work. These methods have been around for years, and can be used in conjunction with modern methods of sunburn relief to help soothe red, inflamed skin. Vinegar and Water This is one that’s been around for a very long time. It’s also one that most of us run away from. It’s the classic vinegar and water bath. While dipping your sunburned body into a vinegar solution will sting like you’re being attacked by 1,000 bees, its natural antibacterial properties help to keep the possibility of infection down. [tweetthis]What’s the best way to soothe a sunburn? #health[/tweetthis] Epsom Salt Another oldie but goodie when it comes to sunburn treatment is the Epsom salt bath. Epsom salt is an all-natural product with anti-inflammatory action that helps reduce swelling, redness and irritation associated with a sunburn. Aloe Vera Aloe Vera is one of the most popular sunburn treatments out there for a reason. The gel of the Aloe Vera plant has naturally occurring soothing and anti-inflammatory properties which can reduce the swelling, irritation, and pain of a sunburn. Be sure to test a very small area of unaffected skin before use. Although its not widely known, many people can be allergic to aloe vera gel. This is one we use if ever we get sunburns. New School Current sunburn treatment uses topical and ingested medication to help soothe the irritation, redness, swelling, and pain of a sunburn. These methods are proven to work and are safe, so they’re worth a try if you look like a land lobster. NSAIDs NSAIDs like aspirin and ibuprofen have been proven to reduce the inflammation of sunburned skin just like they reduce inflammation in joints and overworked muscles. If you have a sunburn, take an NSAID as recommended on the box in the same way you’d take it for joint pain to help keep your skin calm. Topical Hydrocortisone Cream This is another great weapon in your sunburn treatment arsenal. Hydrocortisone cream is a highly effective topical corticosteroid, which means its sole purpose is to reduce inflammation. Apply this in conjunction with an oral NSAID to give your sunburn a one-two punch. Colloidal Oatmeal Bath While a bath of vinegar is all about antibacterial action. A colloidal oatmeal bath is all about reducing inflammation in the skin. Colloidal oatmeal has been shown to be highly effective for everything from sunburn treatment to inflamed skin due to allergies. A nice long soak in a cool, colloidal oatmeal bath can help soothe the burn and inflammation of your burned skin. Sunburn Treatment – Old School or New School? That’s up to You I am a bit old school and a bit new school when it comes to sunburn treatment. Chances are, you already have almost everything I listed in both the old and new school categories in your home. I can say from experience as a parent of a very fair skinned daughter, that NSAIDS often help her but so does Aloe Vera gel. The combination can give my daughter relief from the burning and inflammation of sunburns. I’ve found that the best course of sunburn treatment for my family is to start with sunscreen. The only good sunburn is the one you don’t get! What is your sunburn treatment remedy? I’d love to hear about it.

Oh summer, you beautiful season you. You are my favourite, and always will be. We are well into May which means it’s almost the Victoria Day long weekend!! Every Canadian anywhere in the world right now knows the significance of the May long weekend. It’s the way we jumpstart summer and bring on the fun. This Victoria Day long weekend I am hoping like mad that the new pool liner will be installed and ready to go. Summer at our house involves the pool. Summer brings some travel opportunities and maybe a little bit of cottage time. But it revolves around the pool and the outdoors. What will you be upto this Victoria Day long weekend? Here are a few of the things I can’t live without in the summer. My Five Victoria Day weekend must haves: A pool or a beach or maybe even a campsite. However you celebrate make it count with your family and friends. Sunscreen – stay covered in the summer, spring and sometimes even the fall when you need the protection from the sun’s harmful UV rays. Be safe. Maybe you want to get physical. I know I will be getting back to doing laps in the pool and that makes me happy, but it can also potentially awaken some different muscles, which means I might need a bit of Try Rub A535™ Extra Strength to ease those aches and pains. Maybe you are a hiker. I love a good hike with my family especially when we are travelling. Readers Digest has put together an amazing list of the best hiking in Canada. Canada is also home to some amazing family friendly hiking spots. The Gold Creek Falls trail in Vancouver, B.C. or Webster Falls trail in Hamilton, Ont., are both great examples of outdoor trails that you can tackle with your kids. TRAVEL – Listen travel is a must in the summer. Even if you don’t travel by plane or train you are pretty likely to be taking a car ride at some point the summer. If you are not comfortable with the winding car rides that often occur when escaping the city, throw some Gravol™ in your bag. Gravol™ Ginger Liquid Gels are easy to swallow, non-drowsy and will help prevent any motion sickness on long car rides – ensuring you are ready to explore! 5. The unofficial start of summer and family hikes also mean short season is upon us. I don’t know about you, but I live in a home where three of us are female. We are loving these Nair™ Wax READY-STRIPS. These ready to use strips are simple and convenient, just place and peel! Most importantly they will leave your legs looking smooth and summer ready! What are you and your family planning on doing for the May long weekend? I am a Church and Dwight Ambassador and as such I have been compensated. My opinion is all my own and it is also truthful.

I haven’t itched all week. Why should you care? Well, if you are like me, you either have some experience with mild eczema, or you have a family member with that persistent itchy skin that won’t seem to go away. Did you know 20 % of the population will experience eczema? Did you know there are several different types of this skin condition which can be red scaly patches on your skin that end up cracking, rashing, or even oozing liquid? One common type is cradle cap. Another is contact dermatitis, which is often brought on by excessive handwashing. But ever since we started using Polysporin Eczema Essentials we have conquered the itch. Winter Itch and Dry Skin The winter, of course, makes eczema even more persistent because of the nasty dry weather, both outside and in. In our house, we all get some mid flare ups of eczema. Mine was pretty bad as a child. It flared around my ears every year and under my ears and itched and even wept. We hunted high and low and finally when I was a kid we found this old fashioned remedy that was mostly zinc based. It worked but was messy, as you can imagine, because it was essentially a white zinc paste. My oldest girl Payton has periodic bouts of really dry scratchy skin. She also experiences dermatitis on her hands. It’s annoying to her and we treat with various creams. Meanwhile my youngest, Ainsley, has super sensitive skin and frankly hers gets really irritated easily until it flares into messy patches of eczema. She is a scratcher, so if you don’t get on that fast the itch will drive her to distraction. When she was small she would scratch her arms so badly the skin would bleed. For that kind of itching you need a reliable product such as Polysporin Eczema Essentials. Outdoor Sports Lovers In the winter and summer months we spend a lot of time outside. We enjoy winter sports, but sometimes seasonal weather makes things worse. Just last week I was sent a gorgeous gift box package of Polysporin Eczema Essentials and I started using it on my skin the very next day. You know that annoying scratchy ‘ my skin is on fire ‘ kind of itch that you can’t stop itching. Gone. I was actually shocked how quick this product worked. By the next day – after only two uses I saw a difference. That exceeded my expectations. More Details In fact the packaging says Polysporin Eczema Essentials Daily Wash may help with healthier skin in three days. I found it worked even faster which is good because the itchiness can be such an irritant that eczema can be a really big pain in the neck if it continues on. Polysporin Eczema Essentials is formulated to moisturize while gently cleansing even the most dry, sensitive skin. It is soap free and fragrance free and gentle enough for daily use. Both Ainsley and I have been using this daily wash and she says it makes her skin less itchy too. Polysporin Eczema Essentials has worked extremely well, with rapid results for me. This product carries the Eczema Society of Canada Seal of Approval. We are an active family and we don’t slow down for much. So products that act fast to alleviate annoying itchy skin fit our lifestyle well. Anti-Itch Cream The Polysporin Eczema Essentials 0.5% Hydrocortisone Anti-Itch Cream is for a flare up. I used the cream twice this week. I have patches of dry skin this time of year that get worse where workout gear creates friction throughout the day. The anti-itch cream took care of the spots fast. The active ingredient is hydrocortisone and it’s not meant to be used for longer than one week at a time. Anyone who has eczema likely already knows this type of cream and is familiar with how to use it. This Polysporin Eczema Essentials 0.5 % Hydrocortisone Anti-Itch cream provides fast relief and helps restore healthy skin. Polysporin Eczema Daily Moisturizing Cream can be used daily as the name indicates. It strengthens and restores the skin’s natural barrier function. That’s important this time of year because of the dry air. This cream starts working immediately to relieve itch and dryness. Active ingredient is collodial oatmeal which reduces irritation and inflammation. Moisturizing active ingredients include glycerin, mineral oil and shea butter. Is it for All Ages? The moisturizing cream and body wash can be used on all ages. This hydrocortisone anti-itch cream is good for children and adults over age of two. All of these products have worked really well for us. I am glad we found them and that we have enough on hand to last for a couple seasons. Disclosure: I am a member of Mom Central Canada and as such I received compensation and other perks for this post. My opinion is all my own.
