I did a day trip to Yellowstone National Park and I wish I could have stayed much longer – and checked out the lodges! But did do one thing right – I got up early to visit the park, which cut down on the number of visitors at some of the more popular spots. I was amazed at how much traffic I saw on the way out. It pays to be strategic here! (Crushed that I didn’t discover the snowmobile-drive through McDonald’s!)

In reply to Jeff Albom. Yes Jeff. The geothermal features definitely made me feel like I was in a different world and then the animals wandering anywhere they wanted to naturally was such a treat to witness.

I haven’t been to Yellowstone for years. Geothermal reserves are always amazing and make me think I’m on another world. I would definitely consider staying in the park near the features I would want to visit.

I’ve been lucky enough to visit Yellowstone a few times over the (many) years, but never with a tour company. Not sure why that never occurred to us, but it’s probably thanks to my DIY Dad. 😉 This great guide certainly helps, whether with a tour or on our own. Looking forward to seeing Yellowstone again!

What a great and detailed post! I have never been to Yellowstone but it seems like a really beautiful place to visit and enjoy wildlife. I wish I can visit it sometime soon. I need a nice walk in the nature to clear my mind
