In reply to gingermommy. That's a great practice to have. And swimming lessons are a life skill. We started them when the kids were infants. That was important for all of us as a family to be sure the kids had great swimming skills.

It literally turns my stomach to read those stats. Water safety is incredibly important and we should never take it lightly. Kiddy pools, baths, hot tubs -even the smallest body of water still needs to be supervised and drained when finished or kept gated. A lot of great reminders and advice!

I couldn’t agree with you more! We made sure our kids had Red Cross swimming lessons at an early age too and even though they are both good swimmers, all it takes is a second for something to go wrong. I believe you can never be too diligent when it comes to water safety.

Water safety is always a priority here! MY children all know how to swim and I make sure to communicate with other parents when they are visiting to ensure proper supervision. Great tips!

I agree entirely with this post, you can NEVER be too cautious with children around water, no matter their age things happen and supervision is definitely needed.
