Deep River Snacks All Natural Kettle Chips Review

style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Deep River Snacks makes several tasty items, but this week right before a road trip to Blue Mountain I was sent a box full of their kettle chips. I was thrilled to note the variety of unique flavours from Sweet Maui  Onion to Aged Cheddar and Horseradish and my old standby favourite – Sea Salt and Vinegar. The Sweet Maui Onion was delicious and the Sea Salt and Vinegar is always a hit. The Aged Cheddar and Horseradish nearly burnt my lips off, but just because that flavour wasn’t for me, doesn’t mean it won’t be your new favourite snack.

Kid Tested?

In an aside, my kids sampled these with me and that one was a comical moment for sure. They read cheddar cheese and thought Yum. The horseradish part is very strong.
Kettle chips are pretty popular right now and can be found so many places, what makes this brand different? Well, a few things I noted that I liked. Deep River Snacks are certified gluten free, kosher, made in a nut free facility, with no trans fats, or cholesterol and made in the US. They are tasty too with the right amount of kick, a modest amount of salt and a great crunch that isn’t overwhelming (this is my chief complaint with some kettle chips – I don’t want to chip a tooth while crunching them.) Deep River makes a great product that makes me feel good while eating them. Why is that? Well, because they are also a company that gives back to charity. Many many charities.
Each flavour of Deep River Kettle chips supports a different charity. One of the primary charities is the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation  of America, supported every time you buy The Sweet Maui Onion flavour. That’s a cause near and dear to my heart. They also support the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, The American Liver Foundation and the Autism Speaks network and many others. Mito Action and the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America are two other charities that are associated with a particular flavour of chip. Each one of the charities supported has been chosen because someone in the Deep River Snacks company has a personal connection to the disease or disorder. I love that and found the stories of employee’s children very sweet and touching.

I was not compensated for this post, but I received free product to help facilitate review. These chips get a $$$$$ out of $$$$$. Because I liked the variety, loved the giving back philosophy and felt like the brand connected with me. All that and they taste good too. Also made in a nut free facility. That’s even sweeter!
