Preventing Cold Sores with lipivir
This post has been sponsored by lipivir which means I received compensation.
Preventing cold sores is my new game plan for cold and flu season. I do my best to stay healthy. I exercise and I drink plenty of water. I eat healthy food and of course I wash my hands. I even enforce a strict hand-washing policy on everyone in the house, as well. I’m all over keeping the germs at bay. Still, none of us get out of cold season unscathed, and I will get sick a few times. Unfortunately, when I get sick, I also often get cold sores. They are unsightly, they hurt, and I hate them. However, I have a new weapon in the fight against cold sores. I’m now preventing cold sores with lipivir.
Preventing Cold Sores is So Much Better Than Waiting to Treat Them
Cold sores are the worst. They’re painful, and they make eating painful too. No matter how hard people try, you can still feel them losing the fight against staring at your swollen lip, as well.
How can I tell cold season is going to be a doozy this year? Well, literally the week school went back I had my first cold and laryngitis too. That was early and at the end of it all I ended up with a cold sore too. It’s terrible. I’ve already suffered through one cold sore this year, which is why I’m taking a different approach. Instead of treating cold sores, I hope to prevent hem. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of gross cure, after all.
lipivir is the first over-the-counter product of its kind available in Canada, and it’s helping those of us who suffer from cold sores prevent them before they ever start. Their clear gel ointment is made from polyethylene glycols (PEGs), which are normally used as filler in products like skin creams. However, scientists discovered that this inert filler also does something else. It interferes with HSV-1, the virus that causes cold sores. PEGs prevent HSV-1 from infecting healthy cells in the lips. That means we now have a drug-free way to help prevent cold sores!
How lipivir Works
The PEGs in lipivir inhibit the outbreak and spread of cold sores. All you have to do is apply lipivir regularly (once to twice a day), and it helps prevent the onset of cold sores by providing continuous protection against the virus that causes cold sores. It’s proven to be effective, with a study showing that 80% of patients who applied lipivir daily experienced a reduction in cold sore outbreaks of 75% to 100%.
