I love me some fun cookbooks. And I tend to gravitate lately towards those people who embrace their funny. Hear that @chickymara and @Housetalkn? So this cookbook, The Looneyspoons Collection, fits the bill for me. Because if I am going to cook, I might as well have fun at the same time. I am all kinds of multi-tasking spectacular that way.
So first things first, Janet and Greta Podleski are the two FAB sisters I first heard about many many years ago when I was living in Kitchener and they hit the big time with, a teeny bit of help from The Wealthy Barber, David Chilton. Janet and Greta had a smart idea and it proved to be a great business too. I fully admire that. All kinds of smart and savvy and funny to boot. Janet and Greta Podleski are triple threats that way. Oh yes and let’s not forget the recipes. All kinds of nutritious, yummy and creative.
Take this one that I made one night and served the family.
Dilly Beloved chicken breasts, with maple syrup, dill, lemon and mustard.
So Janet and Greta are the sisters behind the original Looneyspoons and the follow up to that Crazy Plates, then Eat, Shrink and Be Merry. They are TV personalities and authors of those three bestsellers. They were featured in People magazine and now they have this: The Looneyspoons Collection, which is also published by the duo, under their Granet Publishing Inc.company. It is already a bestseller in Canada and, can be purchased for $34.95.
One of my Canadian or US readers can win a copy from Janet and Greta who graciously offered a giveaway too. The Looneyspoons Collection contains some gluten-free recipes and some amazing diabetic recipes, as well as food for finicky kids. While I wouldn’t classify either of my kids as finicky, they enjoyed a couple of these great recipes and, we all loved the Dilly Beloved Chicken. Maple, dill, mustard and lemon is not a combo I ever would have thought of. So good luck and happy cooking!
Disclosure: I received a copy of this book for review and was not compensated for my opinion. My opinion is all my own.
