The Lacklustre televised English language debate I was, until recently one of those not so rare birds, they call the undecided voter. I was absolutely a bit ticked when the election was called, because truthfully I think in terms of dollars and cents and an election is a whole lot of wasted time and money. I watched the whole debate last night and frankly as most of you already know there were no big sucker punches. A lot of disappointment really. There were a couple of quips worth noting and a whole lot of comical moments, especially when Federal NDP leader Jack Layton started dropping words like “Bling” and “Hashtag fail.” The best zingers of the debate for me were relating to crime and prisons and the CPC we’re not soft on crime approach that Green Party leader Elizabeth May repeatedly shut down on Twitter. This weekend I found myself dancing again as two of the leaders of Canada’s federal parties swung through town. It was a most unexpected weekend. I started Thursday with the Ignatieff town hall. Well the long-awaited 2011 budget came out Tuesday with a galley full of bobbleheads and not so many surprises really. It was a document that looked a lot like an election year budget. Restrained, yet well worded with so much emphasis on FDK, as they call it. Not surprising Premier Dad is hanging it all on full day kindergarten. By no means am I against full day kindergarten.
