This one is sure to be hot! Planes, by the creators of Cars, released this summer – in August to be exact. I can’t wait – especially fun because I know my nephew would go nuts for this adorable animated movie. Love the concept of talking planes, trains or automobiles. I can’t wait to see what they have in store next.

The Yummy Mummy Club’s Erica Ehm and Dr. Tiffany Chow A couple of months ago I was invited to The Yummy Mummy Club event for The Memory Clinic. The Memory Clinic by Doctor Tiffany Chow, published by Penguin Books, was of particular interest to me because of the health care journey we have been on with my mother. Chow is one of the esteemed women of Baycrest, a world-renowned retirement home facility in Toronto that specializes in compassionate care for those struggling with dementia. I was thrilled to visit the facility and fairly wowed by the book, as well as…

It was one of those days. You know the kind where the kids come home sick and you suspect the *flu* bug they have contracted isn’t really viral at all. Especially since the one child quite clearly seems as hyper as ever with no sign of flu, or cold, or anything else really. So, what do you do? Well, luckily a craft kit from Green Kid crafts arrived today and my little sick just turned nine-year-old, was completely over the moon. I made her wait so I could take some pictures. There were three full crafts in the music of…

It’s the signature green you notice first. But the business atmosphere is a very close second. But wait, what’s that? The smell of fresh baked cookies daily? Gourmet coffee brewing? Free wifi? The open spaces, bright lit aisles and clean organized lines of the London, Ontario storage facility are characteristics of Storage Worx that set them clearly miles apart from the competition. This is not your average storage place, in fact there’s very little that is average about the award-winning Storage Worx. Storage Worx is a top notch business centre that caters to clients who store their goods, files, or…

This past week London played host to the World Figure Skating Championships, and we did so beautifully. This was the light show we saw projected onto Budweiser Gardens one night. It was called the Tree of Light and it was spectacular.

Dear Mom: Remember last month when I reminded you all about how we needed to book my summer camps now! Well, I am really hoping you did that Mom. I want to get into the same overnight summer camp I did last year with my BFF. It was the most fun event of my entire summer. Oh I enjoyed Canada’s Wonderland too, but nothing will ever top staying up late, crafting all week long, singing songs and making my own dolls and then swimming in a lake and sleeping on bunks away from home. My counsellors were incredible. In fact,…

Kindermom is a joy to share. You’ve heard the slogan before, and yet did you know that Kindersurprise lives that fully and takes it to heart? That’s why I keep happily representing them here on thriftymommastips and working with them to share their great toys and Kindereggs. Kinder partners with Children’s Miracle Network to share their good fortune with the amazing charity that helps support families with a child undergoing a health care crisis. Recently, I had an opportunity to tour the London Children’s Hospital and see some of the remarkable strong families the network helps to support. They are…
