Royale Renocation Contest Launch and Giveaway

What would you do with a $13,000 Renocation?

That’s the question Royale is asking in their grand Renocation Contest. Luckily this thriftymomma is part of the Royale Mommy blogger tour thanks to Jen at Mom Central Canada.

Well, I have to think for all of about three seconds on that one. My cupboards in my kitchen are hideous and slate blue – remember when slate blue was in? Early 90s maybe. Anyways my kitchen is a dreary little room with one redeeming feature – gorgeous hardwood floors. So for us, here at our house, a renocation would begin in the kitchen. Kitchen cupboard renovation tops the list. I would love an island and maybe even a breakfast nook area with a dishwasher that wasn’t apartment-sized (it runs like three times most days – that’s how small my dishwasher is) and then if I had some money left I would add some small details like fixing a crumbling chimney.

Sadly thriftymommastips missed out on the big tax credits for home Kitchen cupboard renovations, or any renovations offered by the Canadian government last year and naturally this year everything is falling apart. Anyways if you are like me – in need of money to renovate that house of yours then why not take advantage of this contest…and as for holiday renocation location well, I would happily travel with my family to the excellent location in Mexico we recently stopped at The Great Parnassus in Cancun. Then again a Royal Caribbean cruise sounds good too.

Some details about the great prizes:

– The Grand prize includes $13,000 to spend on a home renovation in any way the winner chooses AND an 11-day, $7,000 Royal Caribbean cruise for two on the “Jewel of the Seas.” The contest draw will be held on June 29, 2010.

– An additional $5,000 in prizes will be given away to secondary winners in the form of 15 weekly prize packs from the Royale Luxury Bath Collection that include a personal heated towel rack, new luxurious towels, and premium Royale robes.

– Play the “game of the week” and get two entries instead of one, each time you enter!

Thriftymomma is hosting a mini renocation contest of my own. For participating in this blog tour Mom Central Canada and Thriftymommastips are giving away a $ 50 Cara Restaurant gift card, accepted at Swiss Chalet, Montana’s, Milestones, Kelsey’s and Harvey’s, as well as a $50 Home Hardware gift card.

In order to enter the thriftymommastips contest do the following:

1. Leave me a comment on my blog about what you would do with $13,000 to renovate.
2. Follow me on twitter @inkscrblr.

I will draw 2 winners with the help of random.org on April 27th. That’s for the 2 $50 gift cards, one each.

Good Luck!

I think I’d redo my bathrooms… I hate them! The people who lived here before me did such a terrible job. I think they closed their eyes, spun around, and threw grout and tiles randomly!

As to where I’d go, my favourite place on earth is Niagara Falls. My very first “grown-up” vacation, planed by myself, was to Niagara, so it holds a special place in my heart.

I’m a follower on Twitter as @antispamgirl. Thank you!

With $13,000 I’d replace my flooring both on the main floor and upstairs. Always wanted bamboo! Then I’d have the house painted from top to bottom!
If I could go on a trip, I’d go to California for sure. Hello Beach!

    Hi,
I don’t own my own house and I know I don’t qualify, but if I owned I would take the money and try to make the house more self sufficient and safer..Like for example, use the money towards solar, install water filters for the whole house, arrange the backyard so I can grow veggies etc. Install instant water heater in each bathroom etc..
Oh, I always wanted to go to Alaska and experience the nature.

I would replace all the flooring and the windows in my house, and while the work was being done, I would be enjoying my honeymoon in Tuscany. Oh, to dream!

  • Jen Michouris

I would renovate our spare bedroom to make it my son’s own room. I would decorate it and buy some furniture.
For a vacation, I would take my family to Italy.

With $13,000 I would complete a few projects in my kitch (granite countertops!!) and then do some work in the backyard to finish my backyard oasis. I have several ideas in my head how to do that, just need the tiem and money:)

Our family is expanding and we are currently looking to buy a bigger and older home and with that will come upgrades and renovations. So in the next few months when we buy a place I know there will be many things to renovate! Nothing specific at this point but looking forward to more space and making it our own!! Renovations are actually a lot of fun!

My Ultimate Renocation would be to redo our kitchen with updated cabinets and fixtures. I would also like to replace the tub in our main bathroom.

While the house was in chaos, a trip somewhere tropical would be nice!!

  • FOKXXY

I would definately redo my entire kitchen – it needs everything!!!

Then I would take my son to disney.. or Hawaii!! We would love to see either!!

    Thank you!

I would take the kids to Disneyland, buy my hubby a memory foam topper for our bed so he will stop complaining, men are such babies lmao. Then I’d build a deck in my backyard and take my best friend for a pedicure.

Wow! If I were to win I would get some landscaping done as my husband I really know just how to grow weeds. I’d also redo my kitchen and paint any room that is left in the builder’s original colours. I know what Thrifymomma means by the blue cupboards. Of course the husband wants to exchange all are carpets for hardwood.

As for the vacation, Drumheller Alberta as a family for the museum nut (husband) then Cochrane Ontario for R to swim with the Polar Bears.
