Chris Read and his son, or is that Mario? Thanks to Chris for use of this photo and for guesting tonight on Linked Moms chat Ever wonder what Dads really want for Father’s Day? Ever wonder what they are really thinking? Do they like those handmade kid’s version of Hallmark cards, sweets, chocolates, picnics? Would they rather have a Big screen TV for their Father’s Day present? Some days, even after almost two decades of marriage I still feel like my husband and I are talking two different languages, so luckily tonight we have Canadian Dad blogger, and a really great…

School’s out for summer!! Well, almost. And @OurKidsNet wants you to take a picture of your kids, or kid, doing something to celebrate, or cheer the end of school. Take a pic, send it in and win a camera. An awesome camera by the way. First prize is a Pentax Optio RZ 10. So how many days do you have left? My kids have been counting down since Day 45 or something like that. This year, summer will be embraced here with open arms, squeezed for all it is worth and then turned upside down and shaken. Because I love…

S I like to bitch. This should come as no great shock to you all, my friends and readers. But I don’t just bitch randomly. I bitch with purpose – mostly. Because people do dumb stuff and it makes me mad. And you know what? I got enough of mad to open up a whole shop of Joe Pesci movies. On Ebay or Kijiji. So anyways, I gave mad up for a bit. I did. It’s true. (Oh, don’t act all suprised.) I thought what would happen if I woke up all happy happy and set out to think a…

This week we found inspiration on Pinterest and we made Peanut Butter Banana Bread with Reese’s minis in it. Oh my gosh, so delicious! This is ours. And this is the pinterest source for the details. http://www.cookiesandcups.com/ We followed her easy recipe and also used two small packs of Reese’s minis. Oh crazy delicious! Everyone loved it. No peanut allergies in our home, thankfully. Source: cookiesandcups.com via Paula on Pinterest

I like to Move it. Move it. It is a kick being a #KinderMom for the second year in a row handing out chocolate love everywhere. This month, we got a special batch in honour of the upcoming Madagascar 3, to be released June 8th, my husband’s birthday, Kinder Canada and Madagascar/ Dream Works partnered to do some cool things together. One of those things is contained inside the eggs, with fun Madagascar themed toys in specially marked packages. We already have a Gloria magnifying glass and the penguin train above. This year I have taken the toys to our…

Good thing for insurance plans. I have often joked to my kids, somewhat bitterly given the amount of money that winds up going in one of these two directions: dentistry and veterinarians, that they should pursue either one of these options as careers. From what I can see, it’s like a licence to print money. Especially that last one. When our poor sweet cat Magnum was dying, every time I walked through the door of the emergency vet clinic in town it cost me $75 to say hello. It never cost less than $700 to help our cat. I know…
