Just in time for the last PD Day of the year, on a rainy June morning, my Madagascar, Children’s Claritin Mom Crew package arrived bursting with movie items. Madagascar and Dreamworks have partnered with Children’s Claritin to give away some special items promoting the release of Madagascar 3D this week. My children, and their friends are big fans of Madagascar, the movie. And they can hardly wait for the release of the third instalment this week at theatres. Cooking With Kids is my regular series in which I am in the kitchen with (you guessed it!) my kids. So what are we making this week? You know how brands are always trying to breed the chip with crackers to make something more healthy than a chip and less boring than a cracker? You know how it never, ever works? The cracker ends up being too much like a cracker still to pass for a chip? Well, my friends this time they got it right. I was lucky to get connected with Kellogg’s at Blissdom last year and they’ve been sending me little prize boxes all year filled with their latest items. I love new cereals and new granola bars and other products, but I was…

Top Five Mistakes I Have Made #Blogging and #LinkedMoms Chat

In honor of my three year anniversary blogging and my guesting/ hosting night (Wednesday on #LinkedMoms) with my good friend Margarita @downshiftingpos, I thought it time to reflect. Tomorrow I will be chatting about the art of blog writing. I came to this adventure three years ago, as a stay at home Mom, hoping to bridge stay at home and work at home again. I was, in my previous life an award-winning newspaper reporter. I led teams to big awards on big topics, mostly hard news. I wrote about train wrecks, murders, massage parlors that were fronts for other things,…

Three Mouseketeers meet the Sandwich Generation

My brother and Me. The day he walked me down the aisle. The sibling relationship can be challenging when your role changes to become caregiver to an aging parent. This is one of the many topics that are covered on the Comfort Life web site. We called ourselves the three mouseketeers. My Mom. My Brother. Me. We were always three strands of a braid. We fought, motivated, took care of and and looked out for, each other. Very early on, a piece of our family portrait went missing. You know how trees, when pruned of a broken limb, curl outwards in…
