If school is almost out for summer then it’s time to start thinking about summer slide too. Oh don’t worry I am not suggesting that you spend every waking moment of the summer concerned about school. But, take a few moments now and plan ways you can help them avoid summer slide. Then the sailing is easy for the rest of the summer. What are you up to this summer? School is almost out here. Now what’s next? We have some camps scheduled and some great travel opportunities and I am pretty happy for the warm weather to finally get…

Time to start planning for summer and stocking up on pool and beach gear. Hapari Swimsuits are helping me do just that this season. Hapari swimsuits are some of my favourites because of the price and the adorable styles. Also they stay put and are good quality. Spring is here or so they keep telling us. It’s pretty hard to find any evidence of spring here in my new neighbourhood, where everything is still covered in snow. Many of my readers know we moved recently. Our new house has a pool, so we are pretty excited about our first summer in…

I wish I had some better pictures of all the new Kellogg’s products I received here at Thrifty Momma’s Tips recently. I truthfully thought I would have more time with them. But here’s the thing. See those pastry crisps out front there? Well, they vanished super fast. I got to taste one. One. That’s right. Like nobody here at my house understands that I need to actually taste the treats and new snack products in order to write about them? Anyways take my word for it, several of these new snack products from Kellogg’s are heaven sent. The pastry crisps…

My friends know well of my love for all things Disney. Disney Live! Skating shows are always welcome here. I have taken my kids consistently to Disney Live events ever since they were tiny toddlers soaking it all in. There’s something about the live skating show that always makes me feel happy to be a parent. It’s a nice way to take a break and enjoy time together too. This March 16th, Disney Live Mickey’s Rockin’ Road Show will skate on over to Budweiser Gardens. We can’t wait to see it ourselves. I also have set of four tickets to…

A good vitamin supplement like Treehouse Vitamins from Webber Naturals can be like nutritional insurance for your child. In this neck of the woods, during one of the nastiest cold and flu seasons we’ve witnessed in recent years, insurance is important. My kids eat well, but we lead a very busy active life and sometimes I worry. My youngest, is especially prone to colds, and flu bugs. And she…

When it comes to those first months with baby, safety is such an overarching concern that it can be entirely all consuming. You want to be sure that you are doing right by your precious new little one. You handle them gently, getting to know exactly how to cradle them into your body. How to read each cry, each sound and gesture. You put them down to sleep or down for a nap and you worry. When you can’t see them you listen for every little whimper, for the rhythmic rise and fall of their breathing. Almost a decade later…

You might have read my announcement last week with discount codes about the coming Disney on Ice show at end of this month (January 2014). If you did, then you know this is a show not to be missed. My original post is here. We go every year as a family. We really enjoy this spectacular ice show. It’s pure magic, and a Feld Entertainment production. This show Disney on Ice Passport to Adventure runs from January 29th to Feb. 2 at Budweiser Gardens. But wait, I also have a package of four tickets to giveaway to one lucky Thriftymommastips.com…

My kids are gigantic Kidz Bop fans, which makes me a Kidz Bop fan. I love the cheerful, familiar, tunes and family friendly lyrics. Right smack dab in the middle of our snow day this week Kidz Bop 25 arrived. We might have cracked that CD open and danced a bit. Maybe. Snow days can be awfully boring especially when they are on the second snow day of the week immediately after a lengthy Christmas holiday. We just finished reviewing Kidz Bop 24 and Kidz Bop Christmas. You can read that review by clicking the link here.…

This is the story of how 3 M Command Strips helped me ditch the Grinch and embrace my Christmas spirit. As a lot of you know, we are moving. Well, we’ve done a lot of removations over the past 3-4 months. We redid a bathroom and renovated a kitchen. We painted and decluttered and we finished floors in order to sell our home fast. And it sold. Hurray! But decluttering meant everything came off the walls and pictures went into storage and while that’s all okay, here we are at Christmas. And I have frankly spent a lot of money…
