Chocolate caramel pizza is by far the most decadent dessert item my kids and I have cooked. Oh my gosh was it yummy. Next week I promise it will be a healthy food item. How to make chocolate caramel pizza was one of the recipes near the very end of a cookbook I was sent for review. The Cookie Dough Lover’s Cookbook, by Lindsay Landis, is a real treasure. When I first got it, published by Random House Canada, I thought what can possibly be made with raw cookie dough? Well, there are about 155 pages full…

S I like to bitch. This should come as no great shock to you all, my friends and readers. But I don’t just bitch randomly. I bitch with purpose – mostly. Because people do dumb stuff and it makes me mad. And you know what? I got enough of mad to open up a whole shop of Joe Pesci movies. On Ebay or Kijiji. So anyways, I gave mad up for a bit. I did. It’s true. (Oh, don’t act all suprised.) I thought what would happen if I woke up all happy happy and set out to think a…

Well, here it is Thursday again and I wanted to share the yummiest recipe ever with you guys. This week we found inspiration on Pinterest and we made Peanut Butter Banana Bread with Reese’s minis in it. Oh my gosh, so delicious! This is ours. And this is the pinterest source for the details. http://www.cookiesandcups.com/ We followed her easy recipe and also used two small packs of Reese’s minis. Oh crazy delicious! Everyone loved it. No peanut allergies in our home, thankfully. Source: cookiesandcups.com via Paula on Pinterest

I like to Move it. Move it. It is a kick being a #KinderMom for the second year in a row handing out chocolate love everywhere. This month, we got a special batch in honour of the upcoming Madagascar 3, to be released June 8th, my husband’s birthday, Kinder Canada and Madagascar/ Dream Works partnered to do some cool things together. One of those things is contained inside the eggs, with fun Madagascar themed toys in specially marked packages. We already have a Gloria magnifying glass and the penguin train above. This year I have taken the toys to our…

Good thing for insurance plans. I have often joked to my kids, somewhat bitterly given the amount of money that winds up going in one of these two directions: dentistry and veterinarians, that they should pursue either one of these options as careers. From what I can see, it’s like a licence to print money. Especially that last one. When our poor sweet cat Magnum was dying, every time I walked through the door of the emergency vet clinic in town it cost me $75 to say hello. It never cost less than $700 to help our cat. I know…

In honor of my three year anniversary blogging and my guesting/ hosting night (Wednesday on #LinkedMoms) with my good friend Margarita @downshiftingpos, I thought it time to reflect. Tomorrow I will be chatting about the art of blog writing. I came to this adventure three years ago, as a stay at home Mom, hoping to bridge stay at home and work at home again. I was, in my previous life an award-winning newspaper reporter. I led teams to big awards on big topics, mostly hard news. I wrote about train wrecks, murders, massage parlors that were fronts for other things,…

Writing is a pretty sedentary activity. Yes, between all the twitter parties and the bon bon eating, navel gazing and naps, there’s scarcely any time for anything else…(cue awful sound of screechy needle dragged across a record).Say what? Truth: I run so hard and so fast most days my head spins. These are a few little snapshots of our life. When we were still for purposes of capturing a moment in time. Us in Cape Canaveral, Us doing a story and meeting the amazing Olympian Kurt Browning. Us at martial arts. The whole family trains. I run them around and…
