Fifteen minutes into our drive through Coastal Mississippi, the sun loses its grip on the sky erupting in a blaze of citrus shades fanning out from the centre. We couldn’t have timed the sunset better if we’d planned it. Discovering the Secret Coast Coastal Mississippi is sandwiched right in the middle of our 12-day girl’s trip through the Gulf Coast. Our hosted girl’s getaway began in New Orleans with a stay in the French Quarter, then we dipped over to Louisiana Northshore before arriving in Coastal Mississippi. I really couldn’t tell you where this gluten free journey would go when I started it at the outset of the summer. It could have gone either way. Last week we went to a cottage with a crowd of family members and although my daughter quit her gluten free diet (it’s impossible to convince a 14-year-old of anything much sometimes) I maintained mine. My Favourite Buttermilk Biscuits Recipe
Buttermilk biscuits are smooth and so delicious. No holiday meal is complete without these in my opinion. Nothing reminds me of home cooked meals more than Buttermilk Biscuits. My Mom used to make them at holiday time almost every single Christmas. She was a massive bread and biscuit lover. English pudding was her other favourite recipe.
