Battling Cold and Flu Season $85 Get Well Kit Giveaway #ad
This post is sponsored by Bayer. To make sure these products are right for you, always read and follow the label. Well, cold and flu season is here. Every year, it’s the same story. Despite our best efforts, most of us will be forced to admit defeat and retreat to our sofas with a healthy supply of tissues and hot liquids. Trust me I am more than familiar with this. My youngest daughter started in with coughing almost immediately when she returned to school. She battled bronchitis for weeks, and a cold as well. Naturally we all ended up with this nasty bug. This season the cough is the thing…

Keep Stomach Cramping at Bay
Stomach cramping has always been an issue for me. If I don’t watch what I eat, I’m guaranteed to have severe issues. It’s the opposite of fun and sometimes comes at me sideways when I am not even remotely in the mood to be sidelined with cramps. While everyone else is scarfing down hot dogs or funnel cakes hanging out at amusement parks, or what have you, I’m calculating how much grease is in all that delicious food, and how much I might pay for eating it later. Seven Road Trip Necessities This Canada Day #ChurchandDwight
Road trip season has begun in earnest around here, so I am stocking up on a few road trip necessities. Car and van trips can be equal parts fun and chaos. Stack the deck in favour of fun and be prepared for anything with these popular brands. This past weekend we headed to Muskoka and the Huntsville area for a weekend away at Ontario Pioneer Camp Blogger’s Weekend. BUT, I am also preparing for each because road trips with kids can sometimes equal chaos and upset stomachs. A…

Managing Your Medicine Cabinet To Stay on Top of Health
Your medicine cabinet. If you’re anything like me, it’s a mess of bottles, outdated vitamin supplements and children’s products. I hate to say it, but my medicine cabinet is where old prescriptions sometimes go to die. This post contains affiliate links. Organizing our medications and our medicine cabinet could be a full time job here almost. As a Mom with complex health care needs, and a parent to kids with some unique needs and diagnoses I find the task of staying on top of everyone’s medication extremely challenging! I have forgotten to renew meds, which is bad considering that everyone in the family is on one medication or another. Well, no…

Medicare Part D Costs #Walgreens Prescription Savings #ad
(This is one of two sponsored posts for Walgreens. Thanks to Walgreens for trusting thriftymommastips to tell the story of caregiving and Medicare Part D. I was compensated. My opinion is all my own.) Nobody wants to be on medication. And yet, here’s the rub. Pretty much every person I have ever met or cared for, within my family and extended family, has needed the help of a prescription to fix, or maintain health. Sometimes medicine is vital to your health. Sometimes it is crucial that you become your own advocate. Health care is one of those domains where advocacy is not optional, but an essential skill. And sometimes…
