The Bahamas – A Perfect Travel Destination #travel
The Bahamas is the place to visit if you’re looking for fun, sun, waterpark action and sand on your next vacation. This area of the world boasts beautiful beaches, sunshine for days, and an atmosphere of laid back fun and relaxation that the whole family can enjoy. So if you’ve got vacationing on your mind, consider a trip to the land of sunshine and sand – the Bahamas.
The Bahamas – When to Go and What to Do
The Bahamas is one of those places that seems to be perfect all the time. With relatively consistent year-round temps and no shortage of excursions or beach bumming to be had. This is a a part of the world that will not tolerate any stress within you. We spent a day here on our last cruise, and of all the ports we have stopped at this is one destination I would fly back to tomorrow. Our favourite of course was the stop at Atlantis Resort. It was just enough of a taste to make us want to return as soon as we can.
When to Go
This is the beauty of the area. There’s rarely a bad time to go. The weather is fantastic all year, with temperatures ranging from the mid to upper 70s in the winter months and the mid to upper 80s in the summer. Bahamas has fewer scorching days of blistering 90 degrees plus weather than many other islands. Boasting over 300 days of sunshine, the area is travel friendly year-round. If you’re looking to save a few dollars, you could consider visiting the area during the summer. Winter is the peak tourism season for the Bahamas, so a summer trip will save you some money. Winter weather in The Bahamas can be warmer during the day with evenings that drop to what is maybe equivalent to a mild spring day in much of Canada and the northern States. Hurricane season is June to November, which are also the hottest months. Hurricanes typically bypass The Bahamas and land closer to the U.S.
What to You Should Know
The Bahamian dollar and U.S. dollar are interchangeable, so if you live in the States, you have nothing to worry about when it comes to money. If you live outside of the States, remember to convert your money to the Bahamian dollar. In addition, you’ll want to spend all Bahamian money in the Bahamas if at all possible, as it’s very difficult to change from Bahamian dollars to other forms of currency outside of the area.
Like most tourist areas, the majority of crimes are ones of opportunity. These are mainly petty theft instances like purse snatching or grabbing a cell phone or wallet that’s been left unattended. When you travel anywhere you should carry smaller bills. If you start flashing $100 bills, you draw too much attention to yourself as a tourist.
What to Do
And here is the real beauty of the Bahamas. You can do almost anything. Or nothing. Take a guided tour of the surrounding geography or supervised scuba trips. Go deep sea fishing. Alternately, you can lay on a beach all day, soak up the sun, and then maybe go for a dip. The Bahamas is a place where you can do almost anything you can think of or nothing at all!
The Bahamas – A Little of Everything
The Bahamas has something for everyone. It also has the ideal atmosphere for simple relaxation for those who want it. Whether you’re looking for fine dining, aquatic adventures, or just a day of doing absolutely nothing at all, you’ll find exactly what you want in the Bahamas.
