My Word of the Year 2013 #Health

This time of year everyone and their uncle post about resolutions and goals to lose weight, quit smoking and so on. I am not the biggest fan of those resolutions, as they often set you up for failure in my opinion. I am, however, a huge fan of goal setting.
Last year in 2012 I chose a word to work towards as a symbol of my year. It was abundance. And 2012 was that. Business grew, consulting projects flourished and new bylines in traditional media happened too for me here at thriftymommastips.com. It was an abundant year in many ways.
This year I have given my word a lot of thought. I waffled between strong and health. This past summer I realized at Blogher that I was a health blogger. Funny that it took a conference to realize that the majority of my topics are health related. So I choose the word health for 2013. I will work towards health and growing my blog topics that are health related. I will challenge myself to get healthier. I will seek opportunities for my whole family to get healthy and stay healthy. I  will choose one new machine or exercise routine and I will tackle it. I will plank a day. I will build mental and emotional health through resting as needed and taking breaks when needed too. This was not something I did in 2012.
Health and fitness, emotionally, physically and mentally are my goals for this year.
So here’s to your health! And mine.

Mom of two beautiful active girls, traveller, fitness junkie, social media consultant, and keeper of the sanity.
