What You Need to Know About Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response Now

    October 3, 2018 /

Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is the latest relaxation tool and Youtube craze. By now you might have heard about it. If not, then consider this your ASMR guide. Basically, ASMR is a tool often used to relax after stressful days or to help people fall asleep. I discovered this tool on Youtube about six months ago and it has become extremely valuable in our home. Both of my daughters actually use ASMR for that purpose. It’s an excellent way to unwind after a particularly stressful day or to prepare the body for sleep, especially if you’re a person with anxiety disorder, like my oldest girl. Since she started using…

    Whale Colouring Page Printable

    May 9, 2018 /

Have you ever been whale watching? That’s one of my travel bucket list items and I just can’t seem to shake the feeling that I really must do this some day soon. Timing is critical of course. You have to choose a destination and a time when whales are active. I suppose BC is probably a consistent bet that way. But I am typically in BC for conferences and not for leisure. Then again there’s always Quebec and the Maritimes out East. I’d definitely love to spend more time there. For now this whale colouring page will do. whale_colouring_page_adult_printable One day I will get to BC or Quebec, California, or…

On Mindfulness Tools and Month One of Living Mindfully #LoveHallmarkCA

    February 8, 2017 /

This year, I decided 2017 would be my year of living mindfully. Mindfulness was, and still is, my own personal goal. I challenged myself to stop, take stock daily and be present. Be Mindful. So here’s where I am at one month after starting this mindfulness experiment. In fact, I thought mindfulness would be easier than this, so I am looking to build in some new relaxation and mindfulness tools to help get there. This morning, walking alone, on a beautiful winter day, it was easy to close my eyes, block out jobs, tasks, To Do Lists, and reflect on the beautiful surroundings. Southern Ontario in the winter can be pretty…

MINDFULNESS – What’s Your Word of the Year?

    January 12, 2017 /

Mindfulness – it’s the quality or state of being aware or conscious. To me, it’s being here, present, grateful and aware. My word of the year for 2017 is mindfulness, because I think that personally everyone in my family can work towards being present, when together or even when on their own. Being open and mindful of all our blessings daily as they happen is a gift. Every year I try to come up with a word that will guide my personal and professional life. It’s not a resolution exactly, but a mantra or philosophy. It helps me to move forward and be mindful of the goals I have set.…
