Every single Canadian Mom or Grandma has butter tart recipes to boast about. In fact butter tarts are one of my favourite desserts. They are even yummier than my second favourite – lemon tarts and desserts. So let’s talk butter tart recipes.

Butter Tart recipes are generally pretty simple to find and if you start to ask around you will see that everybody has an opinion on what kind they love. Soupy, liquid, buttery gooey butter tart recipes are my personal favourite. I am definitely not team walnuts or raisins. Just love them smooth and buttery.

  1. I love butter tarts and have always wanted to make them but have never tried. Looks like I came to the right place! Going now to check them all out and get baking!

  2. My mom always used currants in her recipe and they were wonderful. Just make sure you soak them in some warm water before adding them to your recipe

  3. so have you ever experienced boiling over with your tarts? I’ve tried not filling them as much but my Canadian recipe always boils over and then there is very little left in the tart! Someone told me adding a little vinegar will help. Your thoughts?
