    January 12, 2021 / No Comments

Easy, Smooth and Delicious Hot Chocolate Bombs to Make Now!

    December 29, 2020 / No Comments

Hot chocolate bombs are our new addiction here. My daughter Payton saw them months ago and we both decided we had to make some as soon as we could find the proper food grade silicone molds for the bombs. Or perhaps, it’s just the natural evolution of the bread machine diaries in our home during the pandemic. Throw in a little Pinterest and a side of TikTok and you have a recipe for hot chocolate bomb FOMO.…

New Orleans Beignets Three Different Ways

    December 7, 2020 / No Comments

New Orleans beignets are legendary. They are synonymous with the destination and just one of those things you need to sample when in NOLA. The city of New Orleans is known for its spirited nightlife, raucous bachelorette parties, and an abundance of internationally inspired foods. Perhaps nothing is more synonymous with NOLA though than beignets. Everyone makes them and has their own slightly unique take on the fluffy doughy sweets. New Orleans Beignets Recently, I went in search of New Orleans best beignets and what I found might surprise you. So, what’s all the fuss? And more importantly, what are beignets anyways? To be completely transparent, before we visited Louisiana…

20 Hearty Chili Recipes To Make Right Now

    October 29, 2020 / No Comments

Chili is one of my favourite things to make in our slow cooker. In the winter months, we ski often and chili is pure comfort to come home to at the end of a long ski day. Plus, it is a very simple dinner or lunch to make. You can also make chili ahead and take it with you if you need a hearty meal that is a crowdpleaser to feed a group. I can’t even count the number of times that I have seen ski families taking a massive pot of chili into a ski chalet. It just makes sense when feeding a bunch. All the Best Creative Chili…

10 + Simple Uses for Common Food Scraps

    October 25, 2020 / 1 Comment

Food waste is one of the biggest contributions to landfills. One of the ways you can prevent food waste is to reuse food scraps when possible. My oldest daughter has me scrutinizing our habits at home and at first I have to say I was a skeptic, but seeing how she easily regrows green onions and uses scraps for other household things from gardening to cosmetic DIY and teas is inspiring. Food Scrap Reuse Food is a vital resource that can be preserved and stretched further with a…
