Battling Cold and Flu Season $85 Get Well Kit Giveaway #ad

This post is sponsored by Bayer. To make sure these products are right for you, always read and follow the label.

Well, cold and flu season is here. Every year, it’s the same story. Despite our best efforts, most of us will be forced to admit defeat and retreat to our sofas with a healthy supply of tissues and hot liquids. Trust me I am more than familiar with this. My youngest daughter started in with coughing almost immediately when she returned to school. She battled bronchitis for weeks, and a cold as well. Naturally we all ended up with this nasty bug.

This season the cough is the thing that will do you in. Unless you get a handle on it quickly and take care of yourself now. Stock up on these items now, so you aren’t scrambling when cold and flu season hits. You might not be able to prevent yourself from getting sick, but there are a few things that help.

When I was little I would stay at my Grandma’s house on sick days. My Mom was a single parent and she worked hard all week. Luckily my grandma was around to help. I’d rest happily on grandma’s sofa all day and she’d feed me chicken soup and orange juice. After my Mom retired, she’d come over and help out when I was sick, even though I was an adult. Now that they are both gone, every time I am sick I think of both of them. I miss that kindness and the way they just always jumped in to help without being asked. There’s nothing like Mom or Grandma to make you feel better when you are under the weather.

There are many things you can do to help get through cold and flu season, even when your Mom is not around. Read through to end of this post to find out how to win a get well care package from Bayer of your own. Please note prize package is worth $85 ARV and contains all of the items shown below without the robe.

Giveaway includes these items without the robe.

  1. Clear your nose

Having a blocked nose can be one of the worst parts about being sick. If cold medications still leave you feeling stuffed up, try pairing them with a saline spray like hydraSense®. hydraSense® is 100% naturally sourced sea water that is clinically proven to help get rid of nasal congestion so you can breathe better and concentrate on getting the rest you need.

  1. Clean up your act

This one is often overlooked! Keep anti-bacterial wipes and hand sanitizer within reach on sick days to avoid leaving germs on the surfaces in your home. The last thing you want to do is spread sickness to your friends and family members. You’ll feel better knowing you’re keeping your germs to yourself.

  1. Take a hike

Did you know that light exercise can help to relieve congestion when you have a cold? Instead of staying cooped up inside, a brisk walk can help you feel restored. Just make sure you don’t overdo it.

  1. Put your sore throat on ice

Sucking on ice chips can help temporarily relieve a sore or scratchy throat by numbing and calming some of the inflammation causing your pain. Other ways to soothe a sore throat include gargling warm salt water or sipping on a warm herbal tea. We have been gargling with warm salt water for a week now!

  1. Give yourself a (delicious!) boost

When you’re sick, making nutritious meals may feel like more of a chore. If your sick-day meals are more microwave friendly than health conscious, it’s also important to make sure you’re getting the nutrients you need with a multivitamin. If you’re not a fan of pills, try One A Day® Gummies. They taste great and help the body to metabolize carbohydrates, fats and proteins. For some added Vitamin C, pop Redoxon® into a ½ glass of cold water. You get 10 oranges worth of vitamin C in one tablet!

Remember, the last thing you want to do when you’re sick is go to the store. So, stock up today to get ready for the winter. What is on your “must have” list for cold and flu season?

Giveaway includes items seem above and is worth $85. David’s Tea and the magical heating bag that smells like lavender are my favourites. The One a Day with calcium is a great addition to my daily routine.
