My Week Away from Twitter – Mostly #travel
I’m baaaack. Yes, Twitter you magnificent little vehicle for messaging, connecting, advertising, marketing, promoting and building friends I am back. I took a week off twitter, well mostly off twitter, Facebook, blogging and other social media, because of these guys. We haven’t had a vacation in over one year and let’s just say it won’t be that long next year. Kids grow too fast and Mom and Dad well, with work, school, extra-curriculars and so forth we were just a wee bit overextended there at the end of March. So I jumped at a holiday booked for us. I prepared some posts and scheduled some client updates to occur in…

Parker IM Gift of Writing and #MothersDay #giveaway
This Mother’s Day has me thinking hard about what to give, or share with my Mom, and the many Moms I know. Flowers? Well, that’s a given. Dinner out? That’s a standard date every Mother’s Day especially since my Mom moved to London. But beyond that, what says: “I love you and thanks.” When I was a teenager and my Mom was hunting for something unique to give me, she would often buy a fancy keepsake pen, the kind that lasts and is built to be treasured for years. When I graduated my Mom gave me a small gift cheque because she was so proud that the first person in…

Hapari 2013 Summer Line and One For You!
My new Hapari tankini. It worked well in Vegas, even though the temperatures were chilly. Let’s be honest. This time of year, if you are Canadian, there is only one thing you are thinking about. Travel. And if you are a girl, the next thing you think about is Holy Crikey what’s the 411 on my bathing suit situation? Do I have one? Will it still fit? Am I comfortable enough in it, to chase my children on the beach while simultaneously looking like a goddess? Is it too revealing? Does it cover my wobbly bits? I have no more of these issues. Why? Because this year I landed a…

Five Ways to Save Money on Summer Camp #MuskokaWoods
Dear Mom: Remember last month when I reminded you all about how we needed to book my summer camps now! Well, I am really hoping you did that Mom. I want to get into the same overnight summer camp I did last year with my BFF. It was the most fun event of my entire summer. Oh I enjoyed Canada’s Wonderland too, but nothing will ever top staying up late, crafting all week long, singing songs and making my own dolls and then swimming in a lake and sleeping on bunks away from home. My counsellors were incredible. In fact, I am crossing my fingers the same ones are back…

Where Will You Go This March Break? #Linkedmoms
My Daughter after her last play It’s almost time. Can you believe it? How is it possible that it’s almost March Break? Well, regardless of where the last two months have gone, the fact is March Break is right around the corner and what on earth are you to do with all that spare time? (Chuckle) Well, there isn’t any spare time here. For sure. My oldest daughter performs with Original Kids and she is in the March break run of The Little Mermaid Junior Musical. So we have been there every week for the last two months – three days a week – and the play is almost ready…

Five Fun Freebies in Las Vegas #Travel
Wynn, Las Vegas Let’s face it. Las Vegas is luscious and decadent and garish and gorgeous all at once. It can be outrageously expensive, a taste of life outside the realm of the every day Canadian’s experience. And it’s very easy to get carried away at the slot machines, or the tables. But there’s no need to blow all your money in one day. There are plenty of freebies to be had and lot of fun sights to see that won’t have you paying for your trip all year long. My husband and I took a quick trip to Las Vegas this New Year. It was our first trip ever…

It’s Vegas, Baby #WordlessWednesday
My first ever trip without the kids since becoming parents. We went to Las Vegas and had some adult time. The pool which was warm despite chilly temperatures in Vegas that week. We stayed five days. Inside the lobby at The Wynn, which was epic and is the only five star resort on Las Vegas Boulevard. The Wynn where we stayed. Incredible and luxurious and remarkable service, even if I never won more than $5 at the slots here. Highly recommend The Wynn.

Making the Time for Adults Only Travel
Weird but true. We travel a lot actually and did so before we had kids. But ever since having children we have not been able to find the time to just cut loose and go somewhere as adults. You know adults only travel. Well, maybe that’s not such a weird story after all. I am sure a few of you have a similar story. Finding child care is hard. In fact when special needs kids are involved it is actually almost impossible. But soon we will go away together just the two of us for a grownup trip. Reason number one – it is to celebrate a busy year…

The Lure of a Great Travel Deal Now
I like to think I am a very savvy travel shopper by now. My family of four loves to travel, but it can be expensive. So, now here’s the thing….I know how to hunt for and negotiate a great travel deal because I have to be able to do that if we want to get away ever. Jamaica – one of our hotspot favorite vacation destinations This time of year, when the leaves start to fall from the trees, and the temperatures start dropping, when I find myself reaching for winter coats and wondering where the mittens are, I inevitably end up with one thing on my mind. Travel.…
