Frosted Marshmallow Easter Bunny Treats

In the spirit of spring and Easter and all things yummy I had a bit of fun baking up a storm in early March. Why not? People seem to love Easter treats and recipes. So I tried to craft a few original and easy ideas just for you. Plus you know I am a fan of kids in the kitchen. So the test sometimes is can the kids make it? Then it makes the cut.

Candy Marshmallow Easter Bunny Treats

Easiest recipe ever and a bit of fun because who doesn’t love candy? I frequent the Bulk Food store here because they always have fun little snacks and candies that are seasonal. At Valentine’s I like the candy hearts and caramel hearts too. At Easter the pastel jelly beans are a favourite here. This year I found Marshmallow Easter Bunnies and I figured I’d be able to use them in some sort of recipes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of Pink Merckens melting candy wafers
  • Various Sprinkles
  • I bag of Marshmallow Easter bunnies 20 to 24 found at the Bulk food store

Instructions

  • Line a cookie sheet with the Bunnies (20 to 24)
  • Put one cup of the Merckens wafers in a microwavable bowl and melt in microwave for 30 seconds or longer. Stir periodically. When the Merckens wafers are melted into a pool of pink then dip each of the bunnies into the pink liquid and soak the top or bottom of the marshmallows.
  • Set each of the bunnies onto the cookie sheet and either shake the sprinkles onto the bunnies. (the liquid should still be a bit wet so that the sprinkles stick.)
  • Or put chocolate sprinkles into a shallow bowl and roll the coated candy bunnies in the sprinkles so it coats evenly.
  • Let them cool and serve.

These candy treats don’t involve any baking at all. Super easy but best in moderation. Don’t go nuts with candy Easter bunny treats or your dentist will not be happy.
