Bird Colouring Pages Printable
Do you have an aspiring bird watcher in your house? In our old house we had a row of cedars and the cedars often attracted blue jays. Many years we had babies hanging about in the cedars. I think I was the one who enjoyed that the most. My front lawn also held a cedar hedge that was home to baby robins every single year. It used to make my kids very happy to step out the front door and peek at them. Sadly a few years the baby robins had some trouble learning to fly and we ended up needing to bury a couple of the ones that did…

Play ON with Playtex Sport Combo Packs – Preparing Your daughter for Her Period #PlayOnContest #PlayOnCa
At our house the activity rarely stops. I have sporty girls. This week my youngest will compete at a track and field meet, swim at swimming lessons, ride her horse at Sari therapy riding program, mentor little ninjas at martial arts and then she will spar, and do her own martial arts lessons. And she will run her little heart out playing with kids in our neighbourhood. And that’s just my one daughter, 11. My older daughter, 13, does most of that, with exception of the therapeutic horseback riding and she acts and sings and dances with a local theatre troupe. My girls and I have been having period conversations…

20 Must Try Homemade Salad Dressings
Homemade salad dressings can be tastier and healthier for you and your family. Here are some of the best homemade salad dressing recipes I have found. There’s no better time than the spring and summer to start making some of these. With farmer’s markets opening this month you can easily find the fresh vegetables and natural herbs close to home. Due to high blood pressure readings that came back three times in a row late last year I have tried hard to revamp my diet and lifestyle. First thing to go out the window entirely was salt. Happy to say I don’t miss it that much. Then I began reading…

Stratford Traveling Display of Heroes and Medals #travel #WordlessWednesday
We were in Stratford a few weeks ago now to see The Diary of Anne Frank. After the play we realized there was a traveling exhibit of medals and heroes in Canada. So we naturally went in to see what was inside. The kids found this and I found some compelling information that was educational about various Canadian medals and what they mean. It was a great afternoon. By the way did you know that those hats are made of real bear fur? I asked. This is a Wordless Wednesday post.

The Art of Marketing Conference Coming To Toronto May 25 and a Promo Code #TheArtOf
Last year around this time, I had the opportunity to attend The Art of Leadership for Women. I spent the day hearing from a talented and diverse group of women who excelled at marketing and business. Hayley Wickenheiser was a real show stopper for me and Martha Stewart is always interesting, to say the least. Last year my personal, and business philosophy, was all about growth. I grew in a lot of ways last year and the social media consulting business at Thrifty Mom Media flourished as well. Growth took me to places I never knew I would be. I worked with World Vision Canada to tell some important stories about their…

Camping With Toddlers 101- Keeping Your Sanity and Keeping Them Safe
Camping with toddlers is a wonderful way to show them all kinds of new and exciting things. It’s a way for the family to bond over every leaf and bug and critter you come across. It’s also a great way to lose your mind if you don’t come prepared. Camping with Toddlers 101 When camping with toddlers, you have two main concerns: keeping them safe, and keeping your sanity intact. Toddlers can be tons of fun, but they can also be little devils if they aren’t properly occupied and stimulated. Tiny, screaming, red-eyed devils. You know it’s true. So what are we to do? I’m so glad you asked! Keep…
