Toopy and Binoo: Live Theatrical Debut Review
What a treat for my family to be able to see Toopy and Binoo for the first time ever live on stage. We have been big fans of this sweet and imaginative preschool show on Treehouse for many years. While my kids are no longer preschoolers, they love a live show, so we couldn’t resist this one. Sunday afternoon at Centennial Hall, Toopy and his silent playmate Binoo had the toddlers and preschoolers dancing in the aisles as they traveled through imaginary worlds from the comfort of their couch. There’s nothing quite like the magic of live theatre reflected on the face of a tot. And there was no shortage…

Abreva review
There is little I hate more than cold sores. I don’t get a lot of them, but when I do I want them gone instantly. As a result I keep Blistex handy at all times, when I travel and when I leave the house there’s even a tiny one stashed so I don’t run out ever. So when Abreva appeared at my house recently for review I was excited to try another option. Abreva is recommended by pharmacists and it’s a fair bit more expensive than my standby Blistex. But, when I tried it last week, I was blown away by how fast it worked. You can feel it working…

Backyardigans Live, Koba Entertainment and a Freebie
The Backyardigans hold a special place in my heart. When they first started staging the popular TV show, we hopped right on the ticket train and raced out to see them. My kids both loved the Backyardigans and I felt good encouraging this show because it was wholesome, it encouraged them to move through song and dance sequences and their music always seemed so much more sophisticated than the average TreeHouse show. And what’s more than that, it was, and still is a really creative little preschool gem. In their neighbourhood, their backyards become transformed into magical adventures. The Backyardigans Live didn’t disappoint that first time we saw them and…

Gatekeeper Health Care Rant
Alright I was planning a giveaway and then I spent all morning arranging and rearranging appointments. Talking to doctors and their BEAUTIFUL (read grumpy) secretaries and social workers and nurses. People who care for my daughter who lives with me and my mother who currently lives in the hospital in London and I am so steaming angry that I think I will rant instead (giveaway later). So essentially in our house since my mother got sick the summer has been medical triage. My doctors and my daughter’s doctors appointments have all been put on hold because my mother has been in crisis all summer. Alzheimers and dementia suck by the way. Part of…
