Take The World Vision Canada Water Challenge #WorldVisionWater
All children should have the chance to grow up happy and healthy. Kids who do not have access to clean water don’t have that opportunity, which is part of the reason I am happy to take the World Vision Canada clean water challenge. A few weeks ago my family started the World Vision Canada water challenge. The goal was to get everyone here thinking about children and families around the world and the scarcity of clean water as a resource. It was also my intention to help my kids to see how many sources of clean water we have available to us here in our home. This wasn’t about guilt, but more about challenging…

This Earth Day Why Does REALice Technology Matter? #RealiceCA #Earth Day
When we can do better we should always try to do better. In our cities, our provinces, and our homes. In our arenas too. When we find a tool like REALice® technology that is better for the environment and saves money, then we need to take notice and begin to use it when and where we can. That’s common sense to me. I have always said if you live in Canada you might as well embrace winter sports. We are not a hockey family, but we are skaters and skiers. We embraced skating again as new parents, because it’s a great way to spend an afternoon together as a family and it’s…

The Gift of Family Entertainment – Road to Avonlea Boxed Set #TMMGG2015
When this Road to Avonlea boxed gift set arrived well let’s just say it hit a vein that’s rich with nostalgia. As a kid I was really enamoured with the entire Anne of Green Gables series of books. I consumed each one happily and couldn’t wait for the next to arrive. Back then we bought our books at Coles Books. Chapters/ Indigo wasn’t even a hint in someone’s eye yet. Anne of Green Gables was actually one of the first books I bought my daughter as an infant, not long after we adopted her, and I set it aside as a keepsake for when she was old enough to read.…

Read Your Nutrition Labels #FocusontheFacts
Reading nutrition labels is something I am hot and cold at. I tend to remember for a significant period of time and then life gets busy and I race through the grocery store just to get home. I mean let’s be completely honest here – grocery shopping is FAR FROM SEXY. In fact it’s like polar opposite of sexy. It’s a chore many days. So who can blame anyone for wanting to get the chores done quickly. I know I have room for improvement. I know it. There was a time there about 2-3 months ago when I read EVERYTHING. Every label was scrutinized. I scanned them all for sodium…
