Every year, from the time I was a child, I have spent at least a week of my summer somewhere on the Bruce Peninsula. The beaches are family friendly. Trails are varied and beautiful. Don’t forget the lighthouses, marinas, shops, cottages, hotels, museums, and B & Bs too. Bruce County is Vast Here in Bruce County there is no shortage of things to do, restaurants to dine in, parks to explore and enjoy. Despite visiting the Bruce for roughly 40 years, this is the first year I ever understood how incredibly vast the Bruce County area is. Our Mother-Daughter Weekend Trip On a…

The village at the base of Mont-Tremblant is awake in a riot of Blues, Purples and Golds. Spotlights, instruments, televisions, bleachers decorate the pedestrian village. Crowds of all ages fill the streets and common spaces between restaurants and shops. Here the sights and sounds of the International Blues Festival wake you up and lull you to sleep in the middle of the month of July at gorgeous Mont-Tremblant in Quebec. On the 24th ever occasion of the Festival International Du Blues De Tremblant I am visiting with a group of travel writers. Together, we are experiencing the best of all…

Recently we were guests of Bruce County while visiting the area and as such we received accommodations and other compensation to share this experience with others. Lion’s Head, just south of Tobermory on the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario, is a beautiful and unique spot to visit. This area is laid back, picturesque, and friendly as we discovered recently when we spent the weekend exploring Bruce County. I’ve been to the Bruce Peninsula every year since I was a child, and it is truly one of the best ambassadors for nature’s beauty that anyone could find. However, until this summer I’d never…

At the end of the day I linger longest. Last of our group, still indulging and squeezing every last drop of solitude and quiet and peace out of the Spa experience. Today, on our final morning in Tremblant, Quebec a group of travel influencers including myself, are happily visiting Scandinave Spa Mont-Tremblant before we leave for Gatineau area. Spa Scandinave The spa is a calming experience after canoeing, hiking, biking and zip lining for days. It is a welcome event for me. Long overdue. This week I celebrated my birthday zip lining down Mont-Tremblant and it was epic. The schedule…

It’s the T Minus countdown that trips us up multiple times. The landing part is smooth. The launch pretty much textbook. But then a mechanical failure threatens the entire mission and time gets jumbled. Over and over. I wonder if the astronauts at first have this much trouble. Something tells me they do not struggle with this simple task the way we do at space camp. Why Am I At Huntsville’s Space Camp? We, are a group of influencers, travel writers gathered, two days prior to the launch of TBEX travel Bloggers Exchange conference in Huntsville, Alabama. We are a…

Travel games are a great way to make any trip better. They are especially good, however, for road tripping. Road trips involve long hours crammed together in the car, and while at first blush this can seem like a great way to promote family bonding, in a few hours, everyone typically is a little bit cranky. That being said, travel games can turn road trips into a fun experience from start to finish and free travel games are even better. 5 Free Travel Games to Keep the Road Trip Moving We all have our favorite games to play on…

Beach hacks are hot right now all across the web, and why wouldn’t they be? We are smack in the middle of prime beach weather. And while the beach is a great place to spend the day, it can wreak havoc on you and your stuff if you aren’t careful. Between the sand and the water, the beach can be a dangerous place for property, especially when it comes to electronics. As a beach lover, I decided to bring my readers my top beach hacks to make any day at the beach better. Beach Hacks to Save Your Stuff and…

Motion sickness is no fun. If you suffer from it, you can look forward to nausea, vomiting, dizziness, sweating, and generally feeling awful. All those symptoms are compounded if you’re wrangling kids at the same time. I’ve put together some tips for combating motion sickness when you are traveling with family. The Lowdown on Motion Sickness Also called sea sickness or car sickness, this annoying and sickening problem actually has nothing to do with your mode of transportation. It’s an inner ear disturbance. The motion of a vehicle or boat causes an imbalance within the inner ear, which in turn disrupts our…

Waterslides are our jam. So, when I heard that Sherkston Shores on the banks of Fort Erie near Port Colbourne had waterslides, and cute cottages, and beachfront, well I was in. Same can be said for my teens, and trust me teens can sometimes be a hard sell. That’s the lovely thing about Sherkston Shores – it’s a beautiful beachfront location that truly is fun for all ages. Our Family Retreat Sherkston Shores welcomed several influencers for a blogger retreat this month over a four day weekend. The drive was manageable at a bit over 3 hours from London, Ontario.…
