This easy T-Shirt Pillow can be done with or without a full sewing machine. Post contains affiliate links as a service to readers. I receive a small commission via qualifying purchases. Anyone Can Make This Project So, cards on the table. I am not the world’s best seamstress. But that said, I am completely confident using a sewing machine and have one that I love, which I inherited from my Mom. I am confident sewing things by hand too. Hemming pants and mending things manually with a needle and thread appeals to the thrifty mom in me. So a T-Shirt…

Oh boy, I know I don’t need to tell you that this year has been a doozy. We are all looking for some cheery ways to get through the summer. I’ve seen a lot of Christmas in July kinds of events happening online and at the start of the entire pandemic Christmas was a beacon of hope for many. Some were decorating trees in the front of their homes with Christmas decorations and bulbs as a show of strength and hope. Others put their trees up and I heard of one family who was actually doing a full Christmas in…

ADHD books for Parents can come in handy, especially at the start of your journey when trying to gather resources and facts. Parenting a child with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) can be extremely challenging. Impulsivity, distractibility, attention, focus and even explosivity are all symptoms that can be genuinely hard to manage and live with on a daily basis. As a parent of two girls who are opposites with these symptoms – one hyperactive and one inattentive, I often need to remind myself to find my calm side and approach parenting from that starting point. This ADHD Books for Parents…

This year, I think we are all crafting bucket lists of a different sort like this Animal Crossing Summer Bucket List, for instance. I know a lot of us are still trying to find a bright side to this whole pandemic. One bright side for my kids – Animal Crossing New Horizons. Animal Crossing New Horizons has rapidly become one of the kid’s favourites here. In fact, they still need to be reminded there are many other things to do before they start gaming every day. We bought the video game towards the early bit of the lockdown, because I…

Replace your vacuum when it’s worn out. That seems simple, right? However, the big question is when is a vacuum worn out? Should even wait until it’s worn out or should you upgrade after a few years? Let’s talk Quaranteens…you know teens in quarantine. My oldest daughter has been doing a lot of baking and finding ways to keep busy during the quarantine. So, this post is one we worked on together. Staving off boredom has been a daily goal here in my home. Some days that’s baking and other days that’s building life skills for teens. While we are trying to work on online schooling, and often also failing dramatically, there are a lot of other life skills for teens that we’ve been working on to fill the time and keep moving forward. Self esteem, mental…

It’s no secret that our breadmaker has been working around the clock here to churn out constant recipes. This past week, my oldest daughter decided she’d try glazed apple bread in the bread machine. I know I keep saying this, but this recipe really is the best bread recipe yet. Post may contain affiliate links as a service to readers. Also, in case you are interested, our breadmaker is a Hamilton Beach bread maker and we love it. Affordable and easy to use, we love this small appliance. It’s been a huge piece of our quarantine sanity. I don’t mean…

Why is Minecraft popular again? I keep wondering that. Are you also kind of like how on earth did this happen? My kids were some of the original players of this game five or six years ago and now here we are again. I know the kids miss their school friends and this is an easy way to connect during the pandemic. Could it be that simple? Maybe that’s part of the appeal of the game again. Fun Minecraft Word Scramble In the mean time, if you want to supplement some of that gaming with an actual Minecraft word scramble…

My friends and family members know I am all about the fitness classes. I structure every work day around the gym. Before the Pandemic, I worked out a minimum of five days a week at the YMCA. Suddenly, I was hunting for online fitness classes to fill the gap. My morning and lunchtime workouts at the YMCA are necessary for me to maintain flexibility, strength, energy and balance. I have Crohn’s Disease and my joints tend to get very sore and stiff unless I move frequently. So, for me movement isn’t optional. When the Coronavirus started was distant news seemingly…
