Coloring can be such fun for kids. Well, and adults too sometimes. It is a great transition activity. Same can be said for coloring with a program on the computer. I was offered a fun app and on line game to review for the littles and was excited when the company offered me a copy to pass on to one of my readers. So let me tell you a bit about www.coloritbynumbers.com This coloring site is available with numerous paint by number pictures for kids aged 3 and up. It is simple to use and fun with catchy music and cute…

Election Post-Mortem #elxn41 #cdnpoli: Or What Happened Canada?

Vote mob in Victoria Park. Rick Mercer and University of Western Ontario and Fanshawe College students urged people to vote Chalk drawing at the vote mob In politics so much can change in a mere matter of hours. Take, for example the election that just took place. It started as a dull sprint. It ended full speed. At first it appeared that the Liberals had a small amount of momentum and the Conservatives mostly appeared angry and disinterested in the whole affair. The NDP didn’t ever really look capable of pulling off what they did at the end. So what…

    London Liberal West Battle #elxn41 #cdnpoli #momthevote

In a last pass through town Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff hit a key London riding Friday night trailing big name Liberals in his wake. Flanked by Glen Pearson, MP for London-North-Centre (my riding) and Ontario Liberal Health Minister MPP Deb Matthews (also my riding), Michael Ignatieff was there to throw his support behind London-West candidate Doug Ferguson in a key riding that could easily see a red victory on Monday night. “Glen is getting lonely. He needs some support,” said Ignatieff. NDP Peter Ferguson also running in that riding is much less well known than Doug. The riding of London-West was for…

    Why I Won’t Vote Conservative in #elxn41 #cdnpoli

The Lacklustre televised English language debate I was, until recently one of those not so rare birds, they call the undecided voter. I was absolutely a bit ticked when the election was called, because truthfully I think in terms of dollars and cents and an election is a whole lot of wasted time and money. I think of a few of my particular causes that might have benefitted from $50 million or billion or whatever the ludicruous amount of money is that is spent on these things and I get irked. I have, as a person with a few hats,…

Why I am Teaching My Daughter to Swear

I am teaching my daughter to swear. Oh not the hard core F this and F that. Hell no! I mean, you know, heck, No. But little steps like this: Piss Off! And even Don’t be a JackAss. Here’s why I am encouraging her to practice using a few expletives at school. Bring the F BOMB or Maybe Just a Good Piss OFF! And this week she used one or perhaps two of those phrases while at school. Public school. Tonight when she was falling asleep I told her she was one of the bravest girls I know. And I…

The First Federal Election 2011 Debate: Analysis of #db8

I watched the whole debate last night and frankly as most of you already know there were no big sucker punches. A lot of disappointment really. There were a couple of quips worth noting and a whole lot of comical moments, especially when Federal NDP leader Jack Layton started dropping words like “Bling” and “Hashtag fail.” The best zingers of the debate for me were relating to crime and prisons and the CPC we’re not soft on crime approach that Green Party leader Elizabeth May repeatedly shut down on Twitter. Smartly trying to crash the party, she jumped in a…
