Calling All Kids!! Calling All Kids who Love taking pictures! It’s not too late to enter this Tourism London Contest. In fact I have a couple of kids in this house who will send their fun pics off to the contest to show what it is they love about London. Could be Storybook Garden, the International Children’s Festival or Ribfest. Maybe even skating at Victoria Park on New Year’s Eve. There is an awful lot to love about our city. The prizes are pretty great thanks to Black’s Cameras. I found out about this one from Evelyn over at Tourism London and JourneyWoman. So thanks to her. Oh, and here are…

Ripley’s Museum – Niagara Falls
Where can you read about the tallest man ever recorded to have lived? Where can you see the biggest prehistoric shark teeth? Where can you spy a model of the chair a man flew threw the air in a la the movie Up!? A portrait made from dryer lint? Replicas of the strangest grave stones ever and the weird rhymes engraved on them? Why Ripley’s __ Believe it or Not! Museum, of course, in Niagara Falls. Located right on the main strip of crazy spectacles dubbed Clifton Hill in the downtown Falls area, this museum can’t be missed. The outside is an optical illusion of sorts, built to appear as if the building is…

Niagara Falls – Americana Review
Three years ago we decided to take our young family to the falls for a fun birthday/graduation celebration. Great Wolf Lodge was fairly new and we were novices at waterparks anyways. Truly, we weren’t sure how a little girl with SPD (sensory processing disorder) and a variety of other diagnoses would manage all that input at three-years-old. So we opted for an affordable spot called the Americana Waterpark Resort. Well, we loved it. We stayed there for two nights under $250 a night and visited Marineland for the first time and just really truly created lovely memories. Americana sends thriftymommastips periodic notices of deals and events and one arrived this…

Have a Great Wolf Day! – a review
We went on so many water slides at Great Wolf we shrank. As promised this is my review of Great Wolf Lodge. Up until this past weekend it, in fact, felt as if we were the last family on earth to visit the infamous family waterpark. But having heard from several of my reades over the past two weeks I know now that’s not the case and many are waiting to hear if it’s worth the money. I have to say we were pretty much thrilled with this trip. We decided to celebrate my daughter’s ninth birthday and combine that with a graduation/ end of school year trip for both girls.…

Happy Birthday and Sales
My gorgeous first-born child is nine years old today and that is truly cause to celebrate. To the girl who made us parents: I wish you a happy year full of challenges you can manage, as many hugs as you require, as much love as a heart can hold and as many friends as you need. I hope you will grow healthy and stronger by the day. I hope you will trust that who you are is good enough and then some. This picture is her last day as an eight-year-old spent celebrating Canada Day at Harris Park. This year we will travel to Niagara Falls and have a…

Bingemans Review and Frito Lay Chip Trips
On the weekend of Father’s Day we had our first chance to use one of our excellent Lay’s Chip Trips promotions. I took my husband and our two kids to Kitchener’s Bingemans Park, now called Bingemans Grand Experiences. You can see from the pictures how much my kids enjoyed the trip. Bingemans is a place where my brother and I used to go with our Mom when we were school-aged kids and we had fond memories of the place from decades ago. So it had a lot to live up to. The last time we were there the wave pool was still quite a novelty located on the outer perimeter of…
