Do you ever give your kids the evil eye? It can be very effective. Sometimes when my kids are misbehaving that’s all it takes. These evil eye cupcakes are pretty simple to make and a lot of fun to serve and share. The cupcakes here are the simple part. But don’t be fooled, the flavour is in the cupcake and the icing, well it’s really just the topper. Then again I am a massive sucker for icing. My kids would happily serve these at any party. Cucumber lunch ideas are simple and healthy. Cucumbers can be so refreshing and easy to snack on. Plus they are affordable. That’s one reason I never mind adding these to my grocery list. In water, salads or on their own cucumbers are a great snack. But what about for lunch? Cucumber lunch ideas are fun and simple, just as you might expect. Here are a few of my favourites. Are you back in the swing of things at school? Is the house quieter? Has everyone adjusted to the new routine? That’s all great, and I hope that it went smoothly…

Zucchini is one of my Go To Favourite Family Vegetables. We have typically grown zucchini in our garden every year but when we moved here to this new neighbourhood we lost that opportunity. Our backyard is a pool and large deck so don’t feel too bad for me. My garden space is very limited and so I gave up the massive zucchinis that the garden used to produce every year at this time. But I refuse to give up zucchini recipes and I have been visiting many seasonal food markets to load up on this versatile vegetable. [tweetthis]What is your…

Well I don’t know about you, but this is the time of year when I start to feel like baking again. The temperature dips and I get hungry for a pie or cake. Chocolate pie is just the ticket. Ten chocolate pie recipes For the time being, I am still baking and eating gluten free, but the rest of my family is content devouring wheat. So I am kind of making two versions of some dinners and desserts. I personally feel better without the gluten, but not everyone in my family has bought into this diet. Can’t say I blame…

I really couldn’t tell you where this gluten free journey would go when I started it at the outset of the summer. It could have gone either way. Last week we went to a cottage with a crowd of family members and although my daughter quit her gluten free diet (it’s impossible to convince a 14-year-old of anything much sometimes) I maintained mine. We gave up on hers for a bit and that’s okay, I think. I wish she had stuck it out, but maybe another time. Anyways I am super stoked to share this gluten free biscuit recipe with…

Well it’s finally time for me to hit the beach this summer!! I have waited forever this year. Well, don’t feel too bad for me. I managed a trip to Arizona for a conference back in May and then I also managed one to New York City in July and also I have a pool so my pool is my beach. Or it will be tomorrow because I feel like swimming tomorrow. Anyways, you might have heard about the cutest little Disney Movie called Teen Beach Movie. Well, I have a great recipe for you if you are still throwing…

This is the story of my love affair with Fiesta Dinnerware. Well, perhaps I exaggerate a little bit. But Fiesta has changed my life. Listen here’s the thing, my friends and family who know me well, know I do not embrace colour very often. I am happy with black and white and tan, mostly with some red thrown in. But Fiesta dinnerware rocked my world earlier this year and now I am changed. I am embracing gorgeous colours now, and cooking with the prettiest lemongrass casserole dishes and I am (gasp) even painting in our house and colouring the walls brightly,…

Remember earlier this year when I got a gorgeous batch of sexy new Fiesta dishes in slate? Well, over the summer I have been building my Fiesta collection. It has been such a glorious highlight of the summer. The Fiesta brand is colourful and durable and these dishes make me proud to serve a meal or a special appetizer. That’s what I love about Fiesta. They are traditional with a little hit of fun colour and so much sophistication. Over the summer I was guest pinner on Fiesta’s Pinterest account. And now that I am done that I am here…
