Five Reasons Why It’s Time For British Columbia to Fund IVF 1. History: BC is the province where the first IVF baby in Canada was born many years ago. It is the province that led the way with in vitro success for Canada; therefore, it’s only fitting and logical BC should be the western province to lead by funding in vitro fertilization. 2. The Numbers: A study released in British Columbia recently stated that 73 % of all residents in B.C. think there should be public funding for IVF. The Infertility Awareness Association of Canada (IAAC) released the survey which clearly…

I have a brand new baby nephew! That’s right, more excuses to shop. Luckily, Old Navy Kids and Baby Sale has a killer Baby and Kid sale on right now. How cute is this? Old Navy styles prove that boys can be dressed every bit as well as their big or little sisters. And, even more importantly, Old Navy isn’t hard on the budget at all. That’s why we love their stores at thriftymommastips.com. It’s starting to look a bit like Spring might be right around the corner here in Ontario. The days are getting sunnier. And babies are popping up…

Well, we are very big Cheerios eaters here. It’s true. My family loves every variation of Cheerios and has for years, from first food to my husband’s only choice for maintaining his strict ninja training regimen (TEEHee!) Joking a bit, but honestly he’s fitness mad and he will only eat Cheerios. And I like to mock his ninja training while pursuing my own yoga training and weight lifting. We all love trying each new flavour of this tried and true staple in our kitchen. Anywho when I heard wind of this new peanut butter flavour offered for a limited time…

This year was a hard one. We have been doing our best to help my mother manage her diagnosis of dementia. Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease are heartbreaking and it can be devastating to watch. As words disappear and memories start to fade your loved one, can often end up being explosive. It’s not uncommon at all and is completely understandable. Over the last couple of years I have noted numerous Alzheimer’s Disease triggers. Here’s a bit more about what Alzheimer’s Disease triggers look like and how to cope. Alzheimer’s Disease triggers This past year was, at times, a glorious mess.…

This past year has been a whirlwind of writing and social media and enjoyable opportunities that I welcomed with arms wide open. So far 2013 is shaping up to be every bit as good as the year that came before it. This past week when the Fairy Hobmother popped by thriftymommastips.com for a visit, I was surprised and pleased. If you blog for any amount of time at all, you learn that comments beget comments so to speak and, once in awhile a magical friendship will be struck by commenting on another’s blog. One time I referred to The Bloggess…

Missy Mila reminds me more than a bit of my little hurricane child here. Not to single anyone out at my house, but I called my one child a two foot tornado for a couple of years and now it’s more like a four foot tornado. Mila is a cute quirky little kid, of 8, who likes to tell stories and has bouncy pigtails. She is a bit of a tomboy and has a hedgehog who is a wee bit silly and a mischief maker. Mila tells sweet little stories with a lesson, fables, I suppose with a hint of…
