Cooking With Kids: Divine Pulled Pork sandwich recipe
Well, this one is good. You are going to want to jot it down, or bookmark for life. Seriously. Mama went nuts for this delicious recipe. So here is my take on pulled pork. I started on line and my kids, well they have been asking to make this one for months. So finally we found the right cut of pork – a pork blade roast ($6) and we got the crock pot out this morning and got started.
Put the pork in crockpot.
Add two spoonfuls of vegetable oil.
one half cup water
3 bay leaves
One diced onion
1 can tomato sauce
1 can tomato paste
3 cloves minced garlic.
2 tbsp of brown sugar
4 tbsp of Diana bbq sauce
Cook on low temperature for 6-8 hours or on high for 6 at most. Obviously I didn’t let my kids tinker with the raw pork because meat is only for adult hands here. But the onion and garlic and sugar and other ingredients, well they love that. So when this is all done and you cut the string off the pork it falls apart like this and soaks up all the sauce. So good! Serve it on a bun, whatever kid you like.
I started with a Canadian Living recipe here, just to make sure I give credit where credit is due. But I changed it a lot because my kids aren’t onion crazy. Enjoy!
