I’ve been wanting a juicer forever and the only blender we have here is a single serve that works for one small smoothie each at best. So this Breville Hemisphere Twist blender was a welcome addition to our kitchen. I have been striving to build some sort of bar area or pool party resources I can draw from, so when the Breville Hemisphere Twist arrived I was happy to give it a whirl.

We were inspired by summer and the hot pool weather to create a yummy refreshing treat that used just a bit of ice cream and some fresh fruit. The fresh fruit added meant that I got to test-drive the citrus cone attachment. For this particular recipe I chose clementines for the citrus cone attachment.

The Breville Hemisphere Twist is made with BPA free materials. It runs a 450 Watt Motor and is quite powerful. There are four electronic speeds that maximizes control for different foods and liquids. The Breville Assist Lid took a bit of getting used to for me because the seal is really solid and functions efficiently so nothing is getting out of there when the blender is on. The Breville Assist Lid also has a ring pull off the side so you can put your finger through to remove the lid itself. There is a preset smoothie setting and an auto clean setting.

After making this sweet drink, we used the Breville Hemisphere Twist again today to make a dip recipe with thick sour cream and cream cheese and it was pretty cool to see the Hemisphere Twist blades in action. It works well when you use a mixture of the speeds to build a recipe.

Ingredients Method

Ingredients
  

  • This makes one large creamsicle.
  • Adjust the amounts to make a bigger one.
  • 1 cup of ice
  • 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • 1 peeled pitted chopped apricot
  • 3 - 4 clementines seeded and sectioned.

Method
 

  1. Add ice to blender
  2. Add ice cream scoops
  3. Add apricot
  4. Peel and section the clementines and then use the juicer attachment on top of blender to juice the clementines.
  5. Blend on high for about 2 minutes.
  6. Serve.

The Breville Hemisphere Twist Blender helped to pulverize a cup of ice easily when we made these Apricot Clementine Creamsicles on the weekend. The 50 ounce BPA-free Eastman Tritan Jug is impact resistant, shatter proof and also dishwasher safe. It is easy to clean because the Mini Hemisphere Bowl System is contoured to the base of the jug so there are no food traps. Central blades are serrated for extra cutting performance.

This blender also comes with a great little recipe book. If I have some time this summer I plan to build a lot more goodies including the raspberry cheesecake recipe contained within.
