Missy Mila: Twisted Tales DVD Review
Missy Mila reminds me more than a bit of my little hurricane child here. Not to single anyone out at my house, but I called my one child a two foot tornado for a couple of years and now it’s more like a four foot tornado. Mila is a cute quirky little kid, of 8, who likes to tell stories and has bouncy pigtails. She is a bit of a tomboy and has a hedgehog who is a wee bit silly and a mischief maker. Mila tells sweet little stories with a lesson, fables, I suppose with a hint of a moral story. Each story ties in to something she…

Five Reasons Why #ABHC4IVF #ABPOLI Makes Sense
There are so many reasons why government should support families and work towards building healthy families. I wanted to take this post to note five reasons why public funding for in vitro fertilization makes sense for the province of Alberta. Right now in Canada the only province that pays for in vitro fertilization is Quebec. The WHO, clearly states that infertility is a health issue, so in Canada where health care is entrenched in our national narrative as a defining characteristic that sets us above other countries, not funding IVF (Three rounds Single embryo transfer) when it is the recommended medically prescribed course of action for some couples, is a…

Five Fun Freebies in Las Vegas #Travel
Wynn, Las Vegas Let’s face it. Las Vegas is luscious and decadent and garish and gorgeous all at once. It can be outrageously expensive, a taste of life outside the realm of the every day Canadian’s experience. And it’s very easy to get carried away at the slot machines, or the tables. But there’s no need to blow all your money in one day. There are plenty of freebies to be had and lot of fun sights to see that won’t have you paying for your trip all year long. My husband and I took a quick trip to Las Vegas this New Year. It was our first trip ever…

Cooking With Kids: #CavendishFromtheFarm Potatoes
Is there anyone on the planet that likes peeling potatoes? I don’t think so. Thank goodness for Cavendish From the Farm potatoes taking the work out of dinner. My kids and I love to cook. These days, when the weather is frigid and my time is at a premium I love to make soups and stews and healthy delicious meals that last for a couple of nights. Comfort food that warms you right up and wards off the chilly temperatures while boosting your body with vitamins. Potatoes are a great source of vitamins and I grew up eating potatoes with most dinner time meals. My enthusiastic helper. Actually, usually she…

Healthy Living: Align Probiotic Review
Probiotics have been in the news a lot this past two years so I have updated this post to include a bit more information. Align Probiotic is one of the options on the market that claims to support digestive health. This post is my personal experience with the product. My loyal readers here know that I have some health issues, mainly digestive, directly related to Crohn’s disease. Crohn’s Disease is an inflammatory bowel disorder that effects the digestive tract the entire way through. How to manage life with Crohn’s Disease is a whole other post. It flares at any time and disappears and then reappears somewhere else. In fact, even…
